Anyone else around 12 weeks and having stretching cramps / aches?

Had a mostly sleepless night last night due to horrible aches around the bottom of my bump. They really got me worried and I wondered if anyone else had them? I did wake up this morning to discover my bump was bigger than when I went to bed! Is this just growing / stretching? It feels so scary when it's happening, dissolvable paracetamol took the edge off a bit, as did a hot water bottle. Am I alone in this?

i have the same thing now and then, do you maybe need the loo?

if it is really bad or any spotting, make an appointment anyway or at least give the mw a call, if only to put your mind at rest, the epu was really good with me

it is so worrying isn't it, i feel like i need constant reassurance that everything is ok

hope it eases off for you and take it easy x

Thank you, did have a very tiny amount of spotting last night but nothing since. It is frightening but, as you say, best to tell all to doctor.
I'm never sure who I'd ring in an emergency at this stage (12+6) too late for EPU and too early for ante-natal?

hi honor, how are you feeling? x

Babylovesmuffins · 17/04/2007 20:37

I had exactly the same at around 12-14 weeks and it was just my ligaments stretching. It did feel a bit like period pains and I was worried too. m\w said very normal but it was sore. Probably best to get checked out if you're worried though.

Hope all's ok.

I was in agony last weekend, doubled over with pain - even went to the hospital! Felt stupid when they said it was just stretching pains. Didn't have it at all when pregnant with my DS.

Thank you ladies, I'm sorry you went through it too but pleased I'm not on my own iyswim! They do feel so much like AF aches don't they, mine have died off a bit but still going to mention it to dr tomorrow.

Yep - also got those pains around 10 - 14 weeks and went into a panic. Acutally for the first 2 months had intermittent small cramps like period pains - I guess there is a lot of stretching being done etc.
Also around 24 weeks went into my next panic as really sore right side. Consultant checked and said it was just the scar tissue from my appendictomy that was stretching! So be warned anyone who has had abdominal surgery or c-section - you will feel those scars being stretched and cramping too!
Now at 33 weeks and all is well.
