Wonder if anyone can offer advice as i am a bit worried. I am 6 weeks pregnant and the ultrasound scan is only showing a sack at the moment and looks like there is nothing inside it, have been told not to worry and that i will have another scan on friday which will show more, but easier to say don't worry than to put into practice. Is it normal to see only the sack at this stage does anyone know. Also have been told it may be eptopic pregnancy, am very confused and would welcome any advice

would be more concerned you have been told you might have an ectopic pregnancy

6 weeks is early to see anything other than a sac, 7+ weeks is better to see baby and heartbeat

have you had pain, bleeding, why have you been told it might be ectopic?

Been told it may be eptopic because they cannot see the "yolk", no pains no bleeding nothing, but am actually getting paranoid now about any little twinge i get.

I had a scan at 8 weeks, they said that is when they can see a heartbeat.

AFAIK if it were ectopic there wouldnt be a sack in the uterus. Ectopic is when baby develops in tube so wouldnt be too concerned about that. Is there a possibility that your dates could be wrong? If you were only 4 weeks pregnant then it would be hard to see anything anyway. I went for a scan at 8 weeks but nothing was seen, 1 week later scan confirmed i was 7 weeks so my dates were out by nearly 2 weeks. Hard not to worry but there really is nothing that can be done till next scan. Keep busy and take it easy.

That is what i thought, if it were eptopic how did they see sack? it is just so confusing and seem to get conflicting advice from different midwives. Hopefully all will be a bit clearer on friday. Thanks you all for your help xx

I had a scan at 7+4 and was told they may not be able to see anything at that early stage. As it was they could see a heartbeat but the sonographer said it was 50/50 whether we would even at 7+4.

I know it's horrible, but all you can do is wait and go straight to the doctors if you have cramps or heavy bleeding.

Thanks. Am not too worried as it is second child and feel a bit more relaxed this time around but there is always the seed of doubt in the back of my mind and suppose until next scan will have to try and put it to back of my mind and assume all is well

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and all they could see is a sac. I went back 2 weeks later and there was a little prawn with a heartbeat. I am now 26+3 so please don't worry. (I know easier said then done!) x
