Need some positive stories (when was your second baby born?)

I’m 37 weeks today and, although I know the longer the baby is cooking the better and they’ll come when they’re ready, this pregnancy has been hideous throughout. I am now in so much pain with my back and ribs that I can sit, stand, lie down or walk for very long.
DD was born at 42 weeks and I’ve already told the Midwife there is no way I can do that again as it was some of the worst pain I’ve ever been in.
I’m hoping so much that DS comes in the next week just so that I can feel somewhat human again. Every little twinge is getting my hopes up.

When was your second baby born compared to your first?
Does anyone have any positive stories of going overdue first time but early on the second?

Not much help but dd1 was born at 40+11 dd was induced at 38+6. It felt very strange having dd2 so early by my standards!

Other way round for me. DC1 at 37 + 2, DC2 at 40 + 5. There's other much you can do really. Good luck!

dd 1 induced 2 weeks after due date very dramatic birth lots of medical staff pulled out before fully dilated etc

dd 2 on due date. ( 40 mins from first twinge on bathroom floor! )

DS1 - 40+7
DS2 - 39+6. I had horrible SPD with the second and so glad he came before the due date, albeit only a day. Good luck!

DC1 induced at 41 weeks. DC2 arrived at 38+0 without any advance warning (I was actually still working that morning, barely made it to hospital).

DS born at 40+12

DS2 induced and born at 37+5

DD1 arrived at 40 weeks exactly. DD2 arrived at 39 weeks.

@PanannyPanoo that’s my worst nightmare however I bet now you look back you were glad you didn’t labour for ages? Right...? I’m 35 weeks looking for reassurance lol.

DC2 was 6 days earlier than DC1 (but still overdue!) good luck!

Very different here... Dd1 32 weeks, dd2 induced at 40 weeks because like you I had had enough... But I basically Sat in consultants office and cried... Hysterical sobbing, when he suggested waiting another 2 weeks...
While I do not condone the public 'demanding' treatment against medical guidelines, I do think that if your really struggling after 38 weeks there is a case for a bit of pushing for iol.

My consultant was lovely but couldn't cope with crying... :)

Forgot to say labour with DS was days.

DS2s recorded time was 1hr 15m & 18m pushing.

Sadly subsequent babies don’t mean they come out any earlier. My third took the longest to come out, and he ended up being an induction.

If it’s any help I was only in labour for 35 minutes but through each of those minutes I wished I was still pregnant and sat at home eating cake.

So definitely some positive stories, I’m going to hold onto those I think!
I would never demand something they didn’t think was right for baby, luckily my (very lovely and understanding) mw has said if I get to my 40 week appointment she will give me a sweep.
I’ve been having twinges and mw says he’s 2/5 palpable so fingers are firmly crossed (although I’m fully aware they both mean next to nothing!)

I don’t think I could cope with the idea of a labour that short, what if I’m on the school run

My ds2 was born 4 weeks early and 2.5 labour!! Which was exactly half the time of dd1!
