So I'm 9 weeks and woken up today with a horrible cold. I'm struggling to find reliable info on what I can or can't take in terms of decongestants/cough syrups etc. Planning on getting to the pharmacy later to ask there but wondering if anybody else knows/can point me in the direction of info on what's safe to take this morning! Thanks in advance.

Hi thinpigeon,

I've had a horrible cold the past 2 weeks and my pharmacist told me there is nothing I could take (not even allowed Olbas Oil apparently!?) 🙁 Literally just told me to have hot steamy showers or hold my head over steam to help with congestion and to drink lots of honey and lemon and keep my fluids up. The honey and lemon definitely does help with my cough though. Hopefully you will have more luck with your pharmacist! Hope you feel better soon x

Sudafed nasal spray is ok as it's localised. Not the tablets though.

Sterimar. It's wonderful and strangely fascinating.
