Reduced movements

38 weeks tomorrow and scheduled for an elective at 39+3. Haven't felt baby move all day even though I had a lie down and a sleep this pm and haven't done that much today bar some driving around doing errands.
He is moving now I am sitting on the sofa but not very much, have eaten and drank normally today so nothing obvious there.
Should I still go up for monitoring ?

Glad you are going in & hope everything is ok. I had to go to maternity assessment twice for reduced movements, both times my DS was fine but best to be checked

MrsMozart · 09/11/2017 20:05

Hope all is okay.

MarshaBrady0 · 09/11/2017 20:05

Glad you’re going, hope all is ok

Booagain · 09/11/2017 20:07

Spottygecko - thanks for saying that! I was told this by a Midwife (!) so now I will never say that again (just did some googling)
Good luck in hosptial Op!

laketaupo · 09/11/2017 20:20

On delivery unit now , hopefully
Nothing to worry about

OP, I'm glad you took heed. Hope it's a false alarm.

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 09/11/2017 20:39

Please go in! I went to see my midwife because I hadn't felt
My baby move for nearly a whole day. I was in panic mode. Went in as soon as midwife put Doppler on my bump baby kicked and wouldn't stop moving after. She said to me that she was glad I went in and it's always best to safe than sorry.

laketaupo · 09/11/2017 20:56

Heart rate is high apparently , she can't tell if head down but probably back to back.
Keeps making noises about induction though (hoping not!!)

Hope it goes well. Glad you went in - it’s always the right decision.

divafever99 · 09/11/2017 21:02

Glad you went in. Same happened to me, false alarm but nobody at the unit minded at all.

Robots1Humans0 · 09/11/2017 23:06

Hope you’re ok OP update us when possible! Xx

laketaupo · 09/11/2017 23:21

Having a final monitor but will be going home tonight and having a growth scan in the next few days

OP posts:
ElephantsandTigers · 10/11/2017 12:37

How are you getting on, laketaupo? I had a growth scan. Baby predicted to be 11lb. He was born hours later weighing less than seven. The size of me was due to polyhydromnious so how they predict the babies weight I do not know.

laketaupo · 10/11/2017 13:47

Have a growth scan early next week , but movements are a bit better today which is good.
Just want to avoid an induction if I possibly can !

ElephantsandTigers · 10/11/2017 17:02

A long walk and rhubarb and custard may help..

LoveProsecco · 10/11/2017 17:12

Glad you are both ok Flowers

laketaupo · 14/11/2017 11:25

Just a quick update. Had a growth scan this morn and was sent straight up to the fetal medicine clinic at the hospital due to the baby being on the 5th centile still and weighing in quite small.
They think either their measurements are all wrong (hope not!) or something else but my movements are still a bit off.

Wondering what could be wrong. I'm 38+ 4 today and having baby on Monday when I'll be 39+4

OP posts:
Sunshinegirl82 · 14/11/2017 12:08

You are in the right place OP, baby is at term so if they need to come now then they'll be fine. I had regular growth scans as they were concerned about how well my placenta was functioning. I wonder if that's the concern for you too? Good luck, update is if you can.

dissapointedafternoon · 14/11/2017 12:13

Just request the baby is delivered.
at this point, they can do a lot more when the baby is out instead of inside you where they cannot intervene. Why the hell are they putting you through this?

laketaupo · 14/11/2017 12:14

Been waiting for over an hour to be looked at , getting a headache and hungry !

OP posts:
laketaupo · 14/11/2017 12:15

I'm desperate to not be induced but if they offer a section today I'll take it. My gp friend said to speak to a consultant if I could.

OP posts:
bLAnbury · 14/11/2017 13:41

They will offer you a section there and then at this gestation if you ask. I had the similar with my son and I was offered a section on the spot at 37+3. All will be well and you are at the right place.

dissapointedafternoon · 14/11/2017 13:59

Demand a c section right now.
Disgraceful. Have they got you on the monitor? Do you Have any children you are meant to be looking after? You poor thing
