Has anyone else had a cyst?

Hello ladies, this is my 4th pregnancy (3 year old daughter and two miscarriages). I have had a scan at 6 weeks 3 days and all was fine, another scan at 9 weeks 4 days and again all was perfect.
The only thing is, they have found a cyst on my right ovaries. Apparently it was there at the first scan but I wasn't told of this then the sonographer Mentioned it on my second scan and I was like huhhh??? What cyst??? They said it was about 5cm and slightly bigger than the first scan and totally common so I'm not worried about it I was just wondering if other women had the same and what was the outcome?

Apparently it’s a thing that pregnant women should have as it produces pregnancy until the placenta takes over, that’s what they told me at my scan last week. And it’s the ovary that you ovulated from.

It's completely normal. It's a functional cyst and will almost certainly go as pregnancy progresses.

Oh I feel so stupid lol!
They just told me they'll keep an eye on it and if it gets to big or causes an issue it will be removed after 16 weeks or it might go on it's own.

I had one at my (private) 8 week scan and it was still there at my 12 week. By my 20 week it had gone!

I was getting pain in my right side early on in pregnancy so wasn’t surprised to hear there was a small cyst.

I had one when I was pregnant with my second daughter. It was discovered at the 12 week scan and removed as it was quite large and they were worried it would twist or rupture as the pregnancy progressed. My niece had exactly the same op at around 13/14 weeks. Relatively common I think and now I don't think they always operate but wait and see if it disappears on its own. This was 30 years ago for me though so things may have changed.

I had one - it was the usual cyst of pregnancy, except it didn't go away. It burst at 7ish weeks, refilled and twisted at 9ish, they drained it and it refilled. Ended up having it cut under general anaesthetic at 13 weeks. Terrifying, but have a lively 4.5 year old to show for it. The pain of it twisting was genuinely worse than labour.
