Stomach bug - should I be worried

Sorry in advance for tmi...

I’m 10weeks 2 days pregnant and have had lots of nausea, occasional sickness and really awful diarrhoea for the past 6 weeks or so.

I’ve been trying really hard to eat healthily and drink plenty of water but have been struggling as have had no appetite and only wanted to eat plain food like bread or potatoes.

On Saturday I came down with what must have been a stomach bug... projectile vomiting and diarrhoea for 12 hours. I couldn’t even keep down water.

I managed to eat some dry toast and drink some water yesterday and have had soup and lots of water today but have had mild cramps low down since I was unwell.

Since then my urine has also been very dark and cloudy and isn’t getting any better.

Should I be worried? I spoke with an out of hours doctor yesterday and she said it all sounded normal and to just rest. I don’t want to waste my gps time by calling but feel really anxious that the baby might not be ok- it’s 2 weeks until our 12 scan and that feels a long time to wait to see things are ok!!

Any advice or simulate experiences would be appreciated!

Oh you poor thing. I got norovirus at 16 weeks pregnant. It was AWFUL. So miserable. I was ultimately fine, though, as was DS who is now 4. I also find that being pregnant gives me not exactly diarrhoea, but definitely looser bowels, which is the opposite of what most people get. But can be normal apparently. Just keep trying to get fluids into yourself.

Baby won’t be affected by a stomach bug so don’t worry. I just had norovirus and baby is fine.
If you develop other symptoms like a fever then see your GP. Otherwise, rest and fluids

Don't worry, baby will be fine.

I remember catching a horrible stomach bug from DS1 when I was in the early stages of pregnancy with DS2, about 10 weeks I think. I was really worried & rang my GP who said the baby wouldn't be affected and just to rest and keep my fluids up. All was well.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers
