Help!....Scared

Help....Really scared. I am about 7 weeks pregnant and this morning I went to the loo and when I wiped there was this brownish pink mucus discharge like the start of a period. Is it normal in pregnancy? Don’t know as its my first and I haven’t got a midwife to call yet so completely in the dark.

It can be normal, but I would have it checked out. Go to your local health centre/family planning or get a GP appointment. I've had 4 full term pregnancies and 3 losses, I've discovered mucus in my knickers during both types so my advice is to see a professional. I hope it all works out well for you :-)

Hi, It can happen in pregnancy. I’ve had one successful pregnancy, two miscarriages and now 34 weeks and have bled every time on and off - this time I bled until my 12 week scan. I think procedure varies according to the area you live in but I called my doctor when it happened in my first pregnancy (which was not an mc) and she referred me to epu for a scan that day. Definitely worth calling your doctor if you are worried, but be aware that bleeding is very normal for some people. Good luck!

I would ring the doctors. They might book you in for a early scan to make sure everything ok xx

This might be TMI, but had you just done a number 2? I had a similar scare around the 7 week mark and it turned out that straining to go to the loo (I had bad constipation early on) was causing my cervix to bleed a little. No harm at all to the baby though Smile.

Definitely worth getting it checked out at an EPU but please don't panic - it's likely fine. Sending a big hug!

I had some brown discharge at 5 weeks. I saw my gp in a panic and got 2 early scans. Try not to worry unless its bright red accompanied by painful cramps. I just had my dating scan and baby was wriggling around! All good so far xx

lilliannrose · 10/11/2017 18:33

@HAGI12 ok thanks will try but it’s hard though. It’s my first pregnancy and I haven’t got a midwife yet either so bit in the dark.

Have you had anymore pink/brown discharge or has it stopped?
I'm sure you can give 111 a call and they can book you into a EPU for a scan. Hope all is ok. I know how horrid it is to be in the position you're in xxx

lilliannrose · 11/11/2017 13:57

@HAGI12 hey! It tends to stop and start really. I have a scan booked in for Monday morning so hopefully all’s well. 😬

Ah that's fab news!!! So pleased for you.
Sounds so similar to what happened to me, so must be common.
Hope you are a lot more relaxed now! Enjoy your pregnancy 😘

@HAGI12 sorry for late reply. Thanks for your support. I have my first midwife appointment on the 29th so looking forward to that
