Antidepressants during pregnancy?

Hi all

I'm getting really down at the moment. My partner had a breakdown a few weeks ago and nearly killed himself, and is now out of work. I've arranged to get a part time job on top of my full time job so that we can pay all the bills etc.

I also suffer from an eating disorder and related depression which is quite bad at the moment.

I'm 12 weeks pregnant. What antidepressants would be safe to use??? Think I need some help ☹️

Have you contacted your MW yet?
You can take antidepressants during pregnancy especially if the benefits outweigh the risk to the pregnancy and your wellbeing.
Speak to either your GP or MW and they should be able to advise which one is more suitable for you.

You can absolutely take anti depressants during pregnancy. Ask to be referred to your local mental health midwife if you have one in your area. Are you already on anti depressants op? Private message me if you feel more comfortable. I have had so much contradictory advice from gps throughout my two pregnancies regarding taking ssri anti depressants. Very happy to discuss what i have learnt. There's a v small suggested risk to baby's cardiac health but I've been encouraged to be relaxed about this as stress caused by depression and anxiety over the long term may also affect. And of course if you feel your mental health deteriorating it can be life saving to use anti depressants
