Anyone found out pregnant really late on and had been drinking ect?

Posting for someone who doesnt have this !!! Did anyone find out till really late on they were pregnant and had been heavily drinking or that? as theyre now worried sick ? But scans seem to be ok

How late?

5 months nearly she had bleeding still but her scans her babys fine . n bleeding stopped.

How much drinking are we talking?

Like partying every 2 days like half a case of 15 budweisers bottle a rosey maybe some drug use now and then . its a shame cause she hasnt knowing till now . i dunno mich about it as a stopped drinking with my 2

Dont really want people to judge her as shes had a hard life but , ive always used this its always a great support and shes to scared to come on and ask herself incase someone says something

No experience that late, was almost 3 months when i found out about DD. She's 10yo now and absolutely fine. I drank way too much, smoked, did coke pills ket pot viagra and speed. Stopped everything when I knew she was there but it was a worry. I know somebody who had a full term baby and gave birth on the toilet before she knew she was pregnant, lived her normal life (drink etc), baby is fine.

Hope your friend and her baby are also ok.

So did she not have any problems atall then and iv heard it alot that people have stopped and theyre babys are poorly and others have done the drinking ect right through and babys healthier than the other one that they stopped everything with, they try say adhd can be a link and the baby can come out with withdrawels and facial abnormalities ect and the more she looks more shes freaking out .and thankyou for ure advice and ohnustey

Facial abnormalities are associated with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, along with other problems. My DD was not affected, lucky for her. Best thing for your friend and her baby is to get advice from GP/midwife. They might be judgy but better to face the judgement and get professional advice than muddle along blind. Hope everything works out well.

Hey OP a friend of mine did not find out she was pregnant until 4 months gone with Twins!

The weekend before she found out i carried her out of a club from excessive drinking/drug use. She stopped all that straight away and gave birth to her twins at full term with absolutely no issues.

I'm not a medical professional at all so it would be wise for her to seek the advise of one. But it would be common sense that unless she is alchohol/drug dependant that she stops those things pretty sharpish for the sake of the baby.

I found out at gone 5 months no drug use and not daily drinking but some big nights Christmas and new year included not to mention a festival! All was well here thank goodness. I felt hugely guilty even though I stopped second I knew.

Yeah shes stopping straight away shes just worried that damage has been done

She might not know if the baby is affected for a number of years. I’ll probably look fine (FAS faces are really uncommon). However, there’s often impact on brain development, eg learning difficulties or behavioural problems.
