2 vessel umbilical cord?

I’ve just been told today at my 20w ultrasound that my baby has a 2 vessel instead of 3 vessel cord. Everything looks great on the ultrasound and with my chromosomal blood tests so they aren’t worried. They’ve referred me to a fetal heart specialist just to be checked over to make sure his heart is working well. I’m just worried as I made the mistake of googling. Has anyone else had this diagnosis?

My sister did, worried herself crazy for the rest of the pregnancy. When he was born nurse and doctor confirmed 3 blood vessels in the cord all along. Any chance you could have a 2nd scan to check?

The dr checked it on ultrasound right after the sonographer did her thing so yes it’s confirmed to be a 2 vessel cord/single umbilical artery at this point. I’m seeing a cardiac specialist to have a fetal echocardiogram to check all is well in the next week or two. They aren’t worried as he’s developing well and no soft markers on either ultrasound or blood tests. I’m just worried as I’ve read some horror stories!

Google is not a friend- there are probably 100s of positive stories for every bad one, only they don’t end up on the Internet. Sounds like they are going to keep a really good eye on you. Wishing both you and baby well from here on in
