Am 22 weeks pg and am booked into NCT classes in SW London but wanted to go to the hospital ones (Chelsea and Westminster)as well- more to meet people than anyone else. Saw the midwife this week who was very dismissive and said if I was going to the NCT ones didn't need the hospital ones- end of discussion.
Just wanted to know if anyone thought worthwhile going to both-(probably wouldn't make DH go to C&W ones). If so, will have to try my luck with another midwife...
Thanks

That annoys me as they assume just cos you can pay for NCT you dont need NHS - uh hello if you want to do NHS it is up to you and dont we all pay taxes?? Try another midwife and dont mention NCT. I did both and met some good friends from each group.

I'm also 22 weeks pregnant in SW London and had the same experience this week, I've booked me and DH onto NCT classes in Putney and when I told the midwife yesterday she told me I didn't need to go to C&W ones. I think NCT ones will be better and there are quite a few of them so think I am going to just stick to them

Kitty- I'm in Putney too!

When do you start your NCT classes- are they with the posh sounding woman in Fulham?

How funny - I start them on 28 June I think. I spoke to the posh lady in Fulham and she wasn't overly friendly so I am booked onto ones in Galveston Road in Putney with a lady called Cathy Sage. When do you start yours and are you in the same ones as me?

27th June but in Fulham- I guess they have loads at the same time.I guess the woman you spoke to was probably the organiser (here's hoping). I have googled the woman doing mine and she seems to be a very earth mother type. Maybe I'll see you on the ward in C&W!

Yes the lady I spoke to was the organiser lady who then hands your details to the right person I think. Let me know if you want to swap emails and we can discuss C&W and being pregnant in Putney!
