What are people views on Bikinis when Pregnant - I thought it was fine but since i've been talking to people about it they seem to think you should cover your belly - I think pregnant women in bikinis look fine. If you are going for a bikini can you not just get a normal one rather than a special maternity one?

Kittypower - i personally wouldn't want a bikini now i'm pregnant, purely because my belly looks huge. I'm very proud of it, but know i would feel very sefl conscious in it. Don't know why, mayeb because my bump would be so bare. I'm getting a tankini for my holiday.

Hi kitty,
I got a tankini as well but I think a bikini is fine - never mind these ridiculous people who thik you should cover your belly - they're probably the same lot that think breastfeeding in public is immoral. Pregnancy is a natural and beautiful part of life and the idea that you should cover it up makes me

I got a (non-maternity) tankini, but now I am 26 weeks it just rides up over the bump, so would have been better with a bikini! If you are happy with your shape while pg, then it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks

tankini is what i went for as well, although the one i bought also came with a bikini top so i did bare my bump a few times. no problem imo. bumps are beautiful.

I'm going away in May and I will be 7 mths. I plan on wearing one of my non-maternity bikinis but with a maternity vest top over it. I don't see the point on buying a maternity tankini or something for me as I'd only wear it a couple of times. I think if you want to show your tummy go for it. I'm not that confident so won't be showing my tummy but I don't see the problem with it. Maybe if you plan on doing a lot of swimming its worth splashing (scuse the punn!) out on a proper maternity one for confort.
Hmmm- that was slightly long winded!
PPS (26 wks today!)
xx

My bump is still pretty small and I'm 22 weeks now, so at the moment I think I will be more than happy to show my bump on holiday but by the time I go on hols i'll be 32 weeks so much bigger. Maybe a takini is a better option - Where did you all get your takinis from, i can't seem to find nice ones anywhere.
