Best mulled wine substitute?

I've just clocked that I won't be able to join in any of the boozing fun around Christmas (small price to pay for a healthy baby etc, but still a bit sad- I love my mulled wine and cider!).

Does anyone have any good suggestions for suitable alternatives? Recommendations for the shop-bought alternatives? Aware that it's still October, but I love planning ahead :D

Ridiculous excited to hunt down all these options. Personally I'd be relaxed about ONE glass of the real stuff (minus the brandy!) but DH and family will raise objections so I want an alternative I can enjoy in large quantities :D

The German supermarkets should carry a non alcoholic version, it's everywhere here.

Norfolk Punch,

Mulled apple juice.

Sometimes they do spiced Ribena too

It's never too early to start mulled wine or apple juice, had my first batch on Sunday! Despite being past pregnancy/breast feeding now, I still often choose mulled cloudy apple juice as it's so nice.

I can't stand the stuff but DP goes to Dobbies every Christmas for bottles of their own one, I'm sure he said the Aldi one was good too.

Ooooh! I love a good mull! Mulled apple juice as fancy or plain as you wish with slices of orange and served with a stick of cinnamon! Gooooorrgeus!

Ekphrasis · 26/10/2017 08:31

I just wack a mulled bag in a vat of it. If people want it alcoholic, they can add sloe gin or brandy.

M&S do a good mulled fruit punch.

Acopyofacopy · 26/10/2017 09:49

I used to swear by the M&S alcohol free mulled wine, but Ribena winter spice is much nicer!

Anothe vote here for the M&S mulled fruit punch.

Although as a PP said, I'm happy just to mull the shit out of a decent alcoholic one and enjoy a small glass Halloween Grin
