Bleeding gums in pregnancy

My gums bleed badly every night when I clean my teeth with my electric toothbrush. I know this is a normal pg side effect.

Is there anything I can do to reduce it apart from gentler brushing?

Nope! Some nights tend to be worse than others, but once that bundle of joy arrives it will stop

I was recommended by my dentist to come for a proper scale and polish every 3 months. Mine have been much better since I went a month ago.

Mine were like that too Juicy, but they hardly bleed now as ds is 7 months, but I'd def go for a polish and scrape at least every 6 months or so, and be prepared for them to bleed even more when you get that done .

Horrible isnt it! I knew it was a symptom of pg but wasn't quite prepared for a mouthful of blood every now and then even when just having a conversation with someone. If your gums are swollen as well try rinsing your mouth with salt water a couple of times a day.
