No heartbeat

Hi I’m just wondering if anybody as ever had this before, I went for an early reassurance scan on Friday, in which they said I was showing 7wks 1day, they were struggling to find any fluttering of a heartbeat, but the sonographer was struggling also to get a clear enough image (I do have a larger bmi so I thought that could of been the problem), this was not an internal scan either it was a normal one? I’ve attached a pic and as you will see doesn’t look too clear thank you x

Hi Kelly. What a worrying time for you. I can't believe they didn't do an internal scan. Especially after not being able to see a heartbeat with the normal scan. With every single early scan I have had they have used internal. Did they offer you a follow up appointment to go back at a later date?

Hi yes I’m going again Friday, it was a private scan centre not my hospital, and they don’t have the right equipment to carry out internal scans xx

I had an external scan around 7 weeks which couldn’t see much. She then gave me an internal scan which clearly showed a heartbeat and dated me at 6 weeks 5 days. They are so, so tiny at that stage. Please don’t worry, there is a very good chance all will be fine. In fact, I question a place being allowed to charge for external scans that early, the places I looked into would only scan from much later unless they had the internal scan as an option.
