How early can I do a pregnancy test? It's been asked before, but I cannot find the threads!

I know in theory it is the day/ day after period due. My period was due yesterday and is usually like clockwork. We only had sex last Thurs (believe me, I remember as it was the first time in 6 months!).

IF this resulted in pregnancy, it is only a week old so would it be too early to test? Part of me wants to test to put my mind at rest, but I don't want to do it too early and get the wrong result. And I don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of cash on pg tests!

i tested early 8 dpo and got a faint line, my af was 5 days away. good luck

surely if your period is due now, and you had sex a week ago , you would have missed ovulation by a good few days....? leave it a week, if no AF, then test..

that's what i thought lulumama, i worked out the window which is why we weren't using condoms [not exactly foolproof i know]. but it is very weird for it to be late. guess i will have to hang about in suspense for a while longer.

My periods are as regular as clockwork so with my children I tested the day after my period was due and both tests came up positive.

Hmmm, sounds unlikely that you could be pg - I would wait a while. Would you like to be pg?

not exactly planned to be pg, but i do feel excited! bit silly, but it's still not here...

If you are nornmally very regular i would test today but, if its negative that doesn't mean you're not pregnant, it could be too early. First response normally show up quite early on. I've always used ClearBlue digital and mine showed up 3 days after my period was due.
