Any way to get an early scan?

I'm starting to be worried, this is my second pregnancy and I'm only 11+1 weeks but I've had lots of cramping which I didn't have with my first pregnancy. Do I speak to the midwife? I've had no spotting luckily but i think I'm over thinking things, is their any way of having an earlier scan just to put my mind at rest? As I'm currently thinking the worst? .. I also know I'm being stupid but I know I need my mind put to rest Blush

This is my second am 18 weeks and I have had so much more cramping (well had none last time!) sometimes really quite painful! No spotting or other issues but worried me a little! Midwife said perfectly normal it often happens with subsequent babies as you stretch quicker than before but has definitely been worse for me! But had our 12 weeks scan and everything is absolutely fine, not far off for 20 week one now, try not to worry to much am sure it’s fine but can always speak to midwife if concerned!

Please don’t lie as her pp re bleeding. If you’re worried but your midwife doesn’t feel you need an early scan you can pay privately for £50-£80ish. I hope everything is ok Flowers cramping is very common and normal in early pregnancy.

Absolutely don't lie about bleeding. Cramping is normal. You'll either need to wait until your 12 week scan or pay for a private one. If you Google there will be places near you who do them.
Try not to worry.

Ah that's reassuring to know it's common in second pregnancies!! I wouldn't feel comfortable lying about it so won't do that and also don't want to tempt fate!! I may look into booking privately then I'll have a google thankyou!!

When is your nhs scan? I have had much more cramping in my current (4th) pregnancy. Oddly I had none in my two miscarriages, just bleeding. I'm 31 weeks and still cramping a lot but all seems fine. I'd recommend a private scan if you are really worried (you can often book one to happen quite quickly) but may be worth waiting for your 12 week scan now if you can.

Agree with pps, pay for a scan. There are plenty of companies that do an early scan package.

Cheapest one I've found is £59

Pay for a scan if yours isn't soon although cramping on its own can be normal.

I know you've already said you wont but please dont be tempted to lie and say you're bleeding and take an emergency appointment which would otherwise be allocated to a woman who is experiencing cramping and spotting or bleeding.

I'm shocked that someone would recommend lying about bleeding! Shame on you.

Cramping is normal but do go for a private scan if it would put your mind at ease.

Get a private scan. That said, if you aren't having any bleeding, I really wouldn't worry. I have had heavy bleeding in both of my healthy pregnancies. A bit of cramping came be completely normal and I think with this one I remember having it more than my last one at around the same time 11-12 weeks. But if no bleeding follows the cramping, then it's likely just stretching. If your 12 week scan is soon, I would just wait. But if you really can't book yourself in for a private scan. I had one at 8 weeks this time around (previous mc) and it was really reassuring and very worth the cost.
