Chicken Pox question

Hello!
I’m 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby and just wanted to ask some advice. My husband is due to visit our nieces this weekend but my BIL has told us that they are probably in the incubation period for chicken pox at the moment. Both DH and I have had chicken pox but I just wondered if it is worth him being exposed to it and possibly bringing it back with him. What do you think? Many thanks for any advice.

As you've both had it you should be fine. How far into the incubation period are they (10-21 days btw and they are only contagious for 1-2 before spots come out until they crust over)

If you have had it already you are immune and won't affect you. My two daughters both had it while I was pregnant and I was fine.

It is possible to get chicken pox more than once. Unusual but not impossible by any means.

Very likely you are immune, though in rare cases immunity can be weak or wear off. But if it's just him visiting, it's very unlikely you both have weak enough immunity for him to get it again and then pass it on to you, so very likely it's fine. That said, I apparently had chicken pox 4 times according to my mum. I certainly remember having it multiple times, so it is possible, but probably unlikely if you've not gotten it again yet.

If he's had CP before then it's fine for him to go.

Rare to get CP more than once, maybe PP had very mild doses before the real thing came along. Need 100+ spots to get a good dose of it. Having 3 or 4 isn't sufficient to count

Thanks for all the advice. DH says he’s going to call the doctor tomorrow. I know we are probably being over-cautious but as this is our first pregnancy we are still finding our feet. 😀

I've had chicken pox 3 times. 2nd and third just as bad as eachother. First time I was a tot so don't remember.
My bil is deaf in one ear and blind in one eye because my mil got chicken pox when she was pregnant.
Personally I would avoid until incubation period has gone.

I'm 13 weeks pg and my ds had chickpox 3 weeks ago. All was absolutely fine , everyone health professional wise said as long as I'd had it there was absolutely nothing to worry about.

When I asked about this, the midwife told me even if I was to catch chicken pox the risks to the baby are still quite low but obviously, check this yourself with your own midwife.
