Second sweep at 38+4 will it work?

Hello - ok so I had a sweep on Thursday at 38 weeks nothing has happened except some greenish mucous and some sharp pains up in what may be cervix. Had a second sweep today as I'm trying to avoid my induction on Thursday.

Its my second child and I went at 37+5 with my first. Both sweeps iv been 1cm.

I just wanted to hear others experience did your second sweep work? Anything I can do to give it a better chance of working?

That’s early for a sweep? Aren’t they done usually when overdue?

Unless there are underlying factors to need one prior to due date hence the induction at 39 weeks.
