20 week scan today and SO anxious!

I'm so nervous for our 20 week scan today... I THINK I've been feeling baby move but I keep thinking what if I've just convinced myself that they're baby movements when they're not? Does everyone else get nervous that they'll get the worst news at each scan?
I've never been anxious about anything in my life, this baby's changing me lol!

I think its reasonable to be anxious before a scan. It would be mad to only ever expect the best, so it's normal to be fearful that something may be wrong. It's also important to try to relax, even though it's hard. I find distraction and being busy with something helps; can you go for a swim or do something you enjoy today?

Yeah I've got lots to keep me busy but at the same time I can't stop thinking about it because I'm so excited at the same time! Its such a weird feeling, just being grateful that I'm even at this point I suppose

I was like this at every scan I had, but particularly the 20 week scan. If I could go back in time I'd tell myself to just enjoy the pregnancy. Hope all goes well for you!

Absolutely completely normal to feel nervous. I even get slight jitters before routine midwife appointments - god knows why!

I'm someone that always thinks about the worst possible outcome, so should something awful happen, I'm somewhat more prepared for it, and if everything turns out to be okay, it's even more of a relief and feels fantastic!

You'll be completely fine though. You'd know within yourself if there was anything wrong. It's so rare to get bad news at the 20 week scan, good luck all the same

Thanks everyone, the scan was perfect and we're having a little girl feel so much more reassured now i know that all the movements I've been feeling are definitely baby. I've promised myself I'll try and chill from now on haha
