no one but your m/w or gp can tell you if you are worrying unnecessarily or not, you have a 20 wk anomaly scan coming up don't you?

during first pregnancies the movements can be felt anything from 14 - 20 weeks, it all depends on how active your baby is and how sensitive you are, and how well padded you are

Don't worry

Steph, I don't think this is unusual for a first pregnancy. Iirc, the books all waffle on about feeling the baby from around 18-22 weeks. At the time I did a poll of my pregnant friends and 24 weeks seemed to come up a lot as when they first felt movement.
It all depends on where your placenta is - for those of us where it was on the front, we felt movement later than those with it at the back or where it was low lying.
Please don't worry about this, just mention it to your midwife at your next appointment - I'm sure she'll put your mind at rest.

I had the placenta lying across the front of the womb and it acted like a padded mattress...It was ages until the DD was strong enough to kick hard enough to be felt!

Hi- I felt my baby move first about 19/20 weeks. Like the others have said- a lot of first timers don't tend to feel til up to about 24 weeks. If you are concerned chat to your midwife. Hope you feel something soon- IMO its amazing!

I felt first baby at about 20 weeks - around the same time as the scan.

This time I've felt LO much earlier - probably 'cause my stomach muscles have completely gone, but I also know what to look for. Its possible that you have felt baby, but just don't know it IYSWIM

Hi!

I felt the first kicks at 23+1. I was getting really concerned even though I'd seen in the scan that she was moving plenty. no weirdly placed placenta to blame, either. just couldn't feel anything!

The night I finally did was so special. Hubby was singing to my tummy, really making the whole thing vibrate and she kicked him right in the lip! We both were shocked and delighted so he did it again and it worked again! Fabulous being able to share that first magical moment.

I've told him he better get used to being kicked around by his daughter. I just know he's going to be a complete slave to her.
