I am wondering how many weeks you were when you felt your babies first movements?

With my first I was 17 weeks (my DH also felt it at the same time Smile I was very thin... Not so much now...)

They say second time mums feel it a little earlier?

I felt it at 16 weeks with dc1, 18-19 with dc2. Was the same size for both pregnancies so the difference is just different babies I guess.

I didn't feel anything until 18/19 weeks but I am fat/ a big girl/ curvey/obese ( take your pick) but once I felt it and I recognised it for what it was I felt every movement and hiccough. But with my second pregnancy, even though I knew how it felt ididnt feel anything until 20 weeks - it just depends where the baby is positioned.

23 I think, anterior placenta

Pinky333777 · 15/10/2017 14:21

I’m 18 weeks and haven’t felt anything yet x

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 15/10/2017 14:51

18 weeks with my second. X

Zeelove · 15/10/2017 14:54

I was 22 weeks and petite! TBH I don't think I knew what I was looking for

RubyGoat · 15/10/2017 14:55

12.5 weeks. DH was sceptical & the ultrasound nurse didn't believe me until I told them thay DD had started wiggling (dating scan at 13 weeks).

Tryingtokeepfit · 15/10/2017 15:22

Ooh thank you :-)
I was hoping to feel this one sooner. But perhaps I won't.
Just got to waitSmile

I first felt him the day before my 16 week midwife appointment. I thought it was wind but my midwife said that was what it felt like!! Like a little flutter. My husband first felt a kick today at 22 weeks.

bettydraper31 · 15/10/2017 18:42

First baby I didn't feel anything until 20 or so weeks. Second time now and felt it for the last week or so and I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. Undeniably baby x

Usernamegone · 15/10/2017 19:23

22 weeks but I have an anterior placenta

CinnamonAndSpice · 15/10/2017 19:26

17 weeks roughly and dp could too. Now he tries to feel every night and it doesn't always want to play. Haha

CL1982 · 15/10/2017 19:31

Nothing yet and I'm almost 21 weeks. Have the placenta right across be front though.

whereareyousleep · 15/10/2017 20:02

I'm 18+3 with 2nd baby and not felt anything do have anterior placenta though

rachrach2 · 15/10/2017 21:40

16.5 weeks with both. I had an anterior placenta the second time and didn’t feel it from the outside until later with her but could feel it from the outside with my first within days of feeling first movement.

NoParticularPattern · 15/10/2017 21:45

I first felt baby around 18 weeks and his is despite having an anterior placenta and being a fatty. Think it just depends how active your baby is and how much effort they make to actually move. I can feel every movement now (lots of internal twitches and some that can be seen/felt from the outside) but to start off with I guess it was just the really big ones that I could feel. I seemed to feel them less if I was full or if I needed a wee which was strange, now baby likes to kick my full belly or bladder just for the hell of it haha!

Passmethecrisps · 15/10/2017 21:46

First baby 18 weeks. Second baby it was about 24 I think thanks so an anterior placenta praevia

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 15/10/2017 21:51

With my 3rd I felt her move pretty early on, around 12 weeks. I was lying in bed quietly and I felt that unmistakable bubbly feeling. I was amazed to be feeling her so early on. That bubbly feeling grew stronger after the weeks went by until it became unmistakable baby kicks.

With my first and second I didn’t feel is as early on but I was so much more sensitive with my 3rd pregnancy, even ‘knowing ‘ I was pregnant a week after conception because my body just felt different.

sizeofalentil · 15/10/2017 21:59

13 weeks. VERY wiggly baby, according to midwives etc.

glow1984 · 15/10/2017 22:01

17 weeks, but it’s possible I was mistaking him for gas for 2 weeks lol. Nickname was fidget :D

GreenGoblin0 · 15/10/2017 22:09

about 19 weeks with first (had felt movement before 20 week scan

about 12 weeks with 2nd - was confident going into 12 week scan that baby was there as had felt a few flutters. had posterior placenta though

Mrstobe90 · 16/10/2017 00:39

I was 16 weeks when I felt the first flutter and didn’t feel another for a few days. They became a bit more regular around 18 weeks.
22 weeks now and am getting proper kicks Smile

Quodlibet · 16/10/2017 00:43

11.5 weeks with my second, very definitely.

mindutopia · 16/10/2017 10:30

13 weeks with #1 and then 11 weeks with #2.

Tryingtokeepfit · 16/10/2017 10:47

Wow a few of you felt them at 11 weeks! That's amazing. I'm feeling bubbles like wind. But it's not very low down so I think that is exactly what they are!
