5 weeks 3 days but no yolk sac yet

I am hoping there are some mums out there who can give me some advice. Had an early vaginal scan yesterday and midwife said the gestation sac was present but no yolk sac yet, she didn't seem to bothered with this and I'm back next Friday for another scan. She said I must be out with my dates and only be around 4 weeks 4 days, however I have been temping and using opks so according to that I am 5 weeks 3 days! I'm worrying myself sick in case I have a blighted ovum as I have no pregnancy symptoms, not even sore boobs and also because my hcg levels must be low since not much can be seen yet - am I being neurotic!?

I'm not sure sorry op but don't let no symptoms worry you. I had no symptoms at all until 9 weeks. Good luck hope the baby develops well from now.

Thanks for your reply twickerhun, I know I need to keep telling myself that not every pregnancy shows symptoms from the outset and step away from dr google, easier said than done .

I think I was around 5 weeks at my scan and they couldn't see anything, and like you they told me my dates were out. But I knew the day I ovulated and had been tracking my cycles for years so knew I wasn't wrong!! I went back 10 days later and sure enough there was a tiny tiny baby.
I'm now 13 weeks and actually at my dating scan they suddenly bumped me up an extra week because baby is now measuring big!

Unfortunately you won't know until your next scan, but there is hope! I know it's so hard waiting but don't torture yourself with google, it honestly doesn't help.

As for symptoms, I didn't have any until 8 weeks. Literally not one symptom and didn't even get bigger boobs until 9 weeks. Now they're massive!! Best of luck x

I had a scan about the same date and there was no sac either. Went on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Thankyou ladies for your responses, it gives me hope. I originally had the scan for a possible ectopic which was thankfully ruled out so I'll stop replacing one worry with another and think positive .

I have had an IVF treatment with 2 fresh eggs implanted, I have had no symptoms and have been taking cyclogest twice a day since my FET. I had a scan at 5 weeks 2 days, the scan report stated "gestational sac uncertain" with no yolk sac or fetal pole. Has anyone else had the same and it turned out to be a positive pregnancy?

@CeriBeri83 I have bad two scans the past two weeks. I had one at what I thought was 6 weeks and 5 days due to having started bleeding and they couldn’t see anything apart from the gestational sac. They said I might be a bit earlier than 6 weeks so they told me to go back in two weeks time (that was in the 24/2/20). I bled for 14 days. I went to the second scan on the 24th and they still couldn’t see anything.
They told me I have had anembryonic pregnancy. I’m devastated. I’m currently leaving it up to nature to miscarry the sac and they said it could take two weeks. However, I’m trying to remain hopeful in that maybe it was still too early to see anything as I’ve read, sometimes you can’t properly see things until 9+ weeks in some women. I’m currently hoping I’m some women. Don’t give up hope and try not to stress because sometimes, there’s no positive signs on a scan until later on (or so I’ve read) and there’s been so many times when women have been misdiagnosed. Don’t worry about not having any symptoms, again, sometimes symptoms don’t happen or, they might happen a bit later than where you’re at in your pregnancy currently. Don’t pay attention to symptoms, I’m not even pregnant anymore and I’m still getting all the hormones causing the symptoms just from the sac. Symptoms don’t mean anything so please don’t terrorise yourself thinking that. I wish you all the best and I hope things go well for you!! xxx
