Did you end up having a girl or a boy?

I'm just curious, I'm expecting my 3rd child and absolutely everything is pointing towards girl! All the websites Iv been on and quizzes Iv been on said girl, all my family and friends think girl, my partner and my kids think girl, and when I put my scan pic up everyone on here said girl lol, also a lot of my pregnancy symptoms point towards what they say could be a girl. Has this happened to anyone else? And did you end up with a girl in the end or was it a boy? Nothing what so ever has pointed towards a boy, so I'm thinking will everyone be right and it will be a girl or will absolutely everything and everyone be wrong and itl be a boy ? Lol x

I said from ridiculously early pregnancy that I was going to have a girl. I posted scan pic on here and everyone said girl. I did the Chinese thing and that also said girl. I was also craving anything sweet (sadly that's not gone away haha). They were all correct for me and I had a girl :)

I didn't look into symptoms etc. but I did have a strong feeling I was having a boy. And I was right! Very early days this time and I don't have a feeling either way.

Are you waiting until the baby is born op?

littleostrich · 13/10/2017 20:31

I was the same - I had a very strong instinct I was having a girl, people said the scan looked like a girl, all the old wives' tales about symptoms suggested a girl... I had a boy. Smile

I had a very strong feeling I was having a girl. At the scan the sonographer said he couldn't quite see if it was a boy or a girl...he thought maybe boy...I said no, it's a girl...he looked again...he said oh you're right. It's a girl. And she was!

I didn't even bother asking!

FannyDaggers · 13/10/2017 20:39

Sorry that was for Christina Smile

dantdmistedious · 13/10/2017 20:41

Absolutely everything about my pregnancy said boys. I had girls. (Twins).

tinypop4 · 13/10/2017 20:47

My instincts were correct both times (girl then boy) but I never found out first.
Christina that's a joke isn't it??

Heatherbell1978 · 13/10/2017 20:48

With my first pregnancy I 100% knew I was having a boy. Just had a really strong feeling. And yes at the scan DS was confirmed. I assumed I'd have another boy as I couldn't picture myself as a mum to a girl but my second pregnancy was quite different. I had sickness for a lot longer but it was less intense and my bump was a totally different shape so assumed the different pregnancy meant a girl. I was right!

DarthMaiden · 13/10/2017 20:55

Myself and DH felt sure I was expecting a boy.

We had no “preference” whatsoever other than hoping for a healthy child.

Went to the scan and was told it was a girl.

I nearly fell of the table with surprise and I remember both me and DH saying “no” at the same time.

I think there was a worry that we were negative towards the prospect of a daughter (not at all!!) , but we explained it was just shock - we’d both instinctively felt sure it was a boy.....

Come the birth - well someone had been hiding something - yes I had a baby boy Smile

I didn’t do any of the stuff you said but I knew I wanted a boy, and I felt straight away that I was having a boy. And I had a boy :)

Roxx1516 · 13/10/2017 21:01

Very interesting responses :) I'm guessing I should just go with my gut really. Im finding out what I'm having in 5 days so very excited to see if its another boy or a girl. It's hard for me to go with my instincts n think this is another boy when literally everything else is saying girl lol. I'm almost starting to convince myself maybe it could be a girl. It's just going to be a shock if it's a boy because of everything that's made me think a girl 🙈 Ino il be happy either way though. It's just exciting wondering weather I'm going to having another son or maybe a daughter! x

Was convinced I was having a girl........was DS.

Next child was convinced I was having a boy.... then DD was born Grin

stopbeingadramallama · 13/10/2017 21:02

I didn’t do anything to find out but I had a feeling from the beginning I was having a boy, everyone else said girl. I was right. 😊

Roxx1516 · 13/10/2017 21:04

@darthmaiden thats shocking, I hope they don't get my sexing scan wrong next week haha. I guess mothers instinct is right most of the time then x

With my two - one boy one girl - everything was different. My DS I had a really easy pregnancy, skin and hair had never been better, I never felt sick and craved meaty savoury things. My DD I was so sick, pregnancy was quite tough, I was spotty and greasy and looked horrendous and only craved sweet things like fruit and chocolate!

All the wives tales were spot on aswell, like the chinese calendar!

user1499786242 · 13/10/2017 21:09

Well the problem with cravings early on is the fact that the male hormone doesn't kick in until 10 weeks (if having a boy) so technically at the beginning you'd have the exact same pregnancy regardless of sex

And the thing with Chinese calendars... if they were right then there wouldn't be orphanages in china full of baby girls..
Still abit of fun of course

I just knew I was having a boy, never found out and when he was born I said oh he's beautiful before even checking!

AnonEvent · 13/10/2017 21:15

I was certain DD was going to be a boy. Utterly convinced. Only really thought about boy's names. When I saw the 12 week scan the first thought that crossed my mind was "what a lovely little boy".

Totally a girl. I have the intuition of a dead stoat.

minniemouseears · 14/10/2017 08:56
