Hi
We have only just found out we are pregnant with dc#2 after 2 years of trying.
I am finding it very hard to get my head around the fact this may actually be happening.
The reason I am so worried is this pregnancy seems nothing like my first. I had some real clear symptoms with my first like no cm at all for a good few weeks. Really bad pmt, I couldn't even smell alcohol without wanting to throw up. I am having lots of weird tummy pain with this one and loads of cm.
I guess what I am looking for is reassurance that pregnancies can be diefferent and it isn't necessarily something to be worried about?

Yeah my second has been totally different from my first symptom wise, it's completely normal for them to be different.

Thank you. That is reassuring

Congratulations!

In my first and third pregnancies my breast were sore early on, in my second they were fine. In my second and third I had a weird low down 'winded' feeling as my first symptom.
The main difference was that I had migraines in my first trimester with my first two, which were girls, but only one in the last trimester with my third, which was a boy.
I had lots of weird niggles and period type pains in the early weeks with all of them, nausea was considerably less with my third but I was taking magnesium so I put it down to that, it started ealiest with my 2nd. With my 2nd I had no PMT in the two week wait, with my third I definitely did!
So there were definite differences.
I agree it's pretty normal to have differences, but I know it's so hard not to worry!

Many congratulations :)
I'm almost 28 weeks with baby no 2 and it's been totally different. I've felt dreadful throughout this pregnancy some cravings have been similar and I'm as huge with this one as the first ha ha but apart from that it's been different.
Best of luck with your pregnancy :) xx

With my first son I had horrendous morning sickness to the point I couldn't do much as lift my head off the pillow for about two or three weeks, I barely ate or drank, I had the worst headaches you could imagine, my boobs leaked fairly early but I maintained physical strength in later pregnancy in the respect I could regularly walk for miles and it didn't effect me (even though I was absolutely massive!).
My second son I felt nauseous but was never sick, never bothered me that much, bad headaches, heartburn radiated me and SPD hurt more than I have words for.
My third pregnancy is different again because I felt symptoms very very early compared to other pregnancies. My boobs were killing me before my period hit, my tailbone was hurting a LOT, I've felt nauseous but not too bad other than one time Smile

This is my second and I have found this much different

ForeverHopeful21 · 13/10/2017 14:31

Mine have both been different. First pregnancy I had symptoms straight away which was the only reason that I did a test! Second pregnancy my symptoms only started at 9 weeks - didn't even have sore breasts or anything that would even suggest that I was pregnant!

I've also been in a lot of pain this time round and was referred to the hospital a couple of times because I was in agony, but everything seems fine! It can be very worrying if things are different from the first time but I think it's very normal so don't fret!

Thank you everyone for your reassuring comments. I think with it taking so long to fall I am ultra paranoid as well

Both pregnancies totally different - not a single thing has been the same. Actually, scrap that, started with heartburn at 30 weeks with both...
Other than that, both completely different (and both boys!)

PandaCat · 13/10/2017 18:20

This pregnancy isn't exactly like my first, but it has been similar in some aspects.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 13/10/2017 20:52

Did you guys show earlier? I'm hoping to keep it quiet till 12 weeks but I heard you can show earlier and I am quite slim. I didn't show with dc#1 till I was 20 weeks.

This pregnancy (DC2) has so far been very different to when pregnant with DC1. I have been much more unwell and tired this time around, nausea and sickness started at 6 weeks this time and is still going strong at 17 weeks now, have been sick many times and am on meds for it. In my first pregnancy I had some Nausea from 10-17 weeks and was only sick a couple of times in the whole pregnancy. Our first DC was a girl and we just found out this time we are having a boy.

pastabest · 13/10/2017 21:02

Ooh I've been wondering this too.

I got through my first pregnancy without a single stretch mark or pile, and just a few stitches. I was pretty sick though for the first 19 weeks last time and so far (6 weeks) I feel faintly nauseous but nothing too bad. I also didn't start to sow until about 20 weeks and already my clothes are feeling rather tight...

Guessing I might not get second time lucky on the stretch marks Sad

Both pregnancies and births totally different, both healthy boys at the end of it!

Pregnancy is just weird basically; congratulations OP and hope it all goes well for you!
