SS maternity grant?

Hey mums.
I sent off for my sure start maternity grant on Monday,I realise it's not even been a week yet but I've not heard anything not even the text the send.

I just wanted to know how long yours took from sending it to hearing back wether that be a text or letter.

I received the letter about 2 weeks after I sent off, I didn't receive the actual money until baby was 3 months old x

Of course it’s fair, the money goes to those who need it the most.

I work full time and have no extra money for anything

It isn’t ‘extra money’, it’s a benefit for those that need it the most.

If you were that poor you WOULD be entitled to it, if you aren't entitled to it then you clearly earn enough money that you don't need the grant

Hi I applied For my sure start maternity grant on the day advised by my work coach after a week of it being sent off they sent me the auto mated message saying they have received and a decision would be made. When I called them they said I had applied 3 days too early as I was 11 weeks 3 days until due so to reapply the following week. I did this and it has been over a week since I sent it but still haven’t heard anything .. just wondered how long after people have sent them did they hear from them and how long after that did it take to recieve it! I now have 9 weeks until I’m due any advice would be appreciated
