What can I use to help cope with colds??

I had a stinker a few weeks ago, and I was told by the pharmacist I could only take paracetamol. I had terrible sinus pain, so I did some steam inhalations too (head under a towel over a bowl of boiling water). Keep your fluids up, take a few days off work or rest from your usual routine. That's about it I'm afraid. I do hope you feel better soon, it's rotten when you can't take anything stronger.

Squeeze juice of half a lemon, add a teaspoon of honey, grate some fresh ginger, and add hot water. Quite soothing for sore throats and helps clear sinuses. Otherwise, rest, rest and more rest, loads of juice and water, some Vit C, stay away from dairy, eat lots of vegetables and fruit (soups and smoothies if your throat is sore), and eat things like chicken with garlic and honey (garlic, honey, ginger and lemon are all antiviral). Hope this helps.
