Getting the sex wrong

So I'm a big worrier. We had our 20 week scan on Tuesday and was told we was having a boy. Absolutely over the moon at this news. The sonographer even showed us his bits, testicles and willy!! I'm now over thinking it and worrying that these could've been other things like the umbilical cord and swollen girl genitalia. Has anyone been shown/told this and then its ended up being a girl?! Or has anyone been told the wrong sex at there 20 week scan? I know I'm being over the top but I'm so scared of getting attached to the thought of having a baby boy only for it to end up a baby girl.

Yep. Told girl, but late growth scan revealed boy.

But yy, it's really quite hard to mistake testes, they are quite obvious once descended.

I knew someone who was told a girl and found out it was a boy when he came out.

One reason I'll never find out as I'd worry they were wrong the whole time (but I am a worrier!)

You're more likely to wrongly say the child is a girl.
The sonographers are pretty good at detecting anatomy, it's unlikely they will mistake an umbilical cord for testicles

I know of someone (a friend of friends) who was told she was having a boy. 6 weeks before her due date she was getting a scan and was informed she was in fact having girl! She was born a few months ago.
I should add that I don't know if the initial scan was her 20 anomaly week one, or one of those paid for 3d ones to determine the sex.

My local hospital won't tell you at the anomaly scan, you have to pay for a 3d.

Half of these private scanners aren't sonographers and have no training people need to be careful who they're giving their money to

I was told I was having a girl at 29 weeks, few weeks later discovered he was actually a boy! It's very unlikely to be told boy and actually have a girl.

Friend was told boy at 20 week scan and at a later growth scan! Going to her daughters 3rd birthday next week

They told me I was definitely having a boy at my 20 week scan but I had a girl.

When you have your baby, no matter what sex it is, in sure you'll be elated, even if it is different to what you were told before. Any attachment to a particular sex will probably disappear immediately as you'll just be happy your baby has safely arrived.

They've always been accurate for me. I've found out the sex with all four of my kids and has never been wrong.
