what was your must have baby items and why?

The sleepyhead! We bought the bigger size for my daughter when she was about 6 months, and it meant we were able to put her down for the first time without her getting upset. She definitely felt happier (more secure?) and it helped with the transition into a cot in her own room too. I plan on buying the smaller version for this next baby too!

Baby sleeping bags! So much easier than blankets with the tog ratings you can gauge what they need according to the temperature in the room.
