Slow Labour

I'm 40 + 2 with DC1 and have been having irregular contractions (7-20 minutes apart) since 3am on Monday.

Midwife gave me codeine so I could get some sleep last night and said to DH that she reckoned things would get going properly today- I was only 1 cm dilated when she examined me yesterday morning 😔.Contractions have been coming and going every 12 mins or so from 8am today, but no other changes.

Anyone had this before? I knew this would be difficult but Jesus I didn't
expect 48 hours of no let up but with no progression.

Just to give you some hope, I was in 'early labour' from Tuesday to Friday, I was examined on the Friday (late afternoon) and found to be 1cm dilated at 40+4.

I continued having contractions on and off all of Friday evening, went to bed around midnight, woke up around 2:30am with continuing contractions.

Went into hospital at 3:50am and was found to be 7cm dilated. Gave birth a few hours later. It can happen.
