I’ve had several people tell me that my bump is showing really early. I’m trying not to take that the wrong way! My friend didn’t show until she was almost 22 weeks but I had a small bump by 14 weeks. Will I be like a whale by the end or will it even out?? Tell me your bump stories Smile

I think we all end up as whales in the end 😂 I had a very petite bump - with a baggy top you wouldn't have noticed it even at 7 months. I was huge by the time I eventually gave birth at 42 weeks!!

I had a friend who showed really early, but she looked a normal size at the end.

So don't worry yours will probably even out and I'd just enjoy it. Nothing wrong with a lovely baby bump. I just wish mine had disappeared a few years after the birth!

I was really bloated in the early stages so looked big at 12-15 weeks but now I'm 26 weeks and you would barely notice my bump unless I wear tight clothing. In fact, todays is the first time someone has said 'oh you're pregnant!' rather than me telling them. I had my measurements taken on Friday though and all measuring perfectly, everyone is just different :)

My bump popped out about 20 weeks but it's not changed too much as I've been losing weight at the same time. I definitely look pregnant as opposed to fat though so that's something...

lampert · 03/10/2017 17:21

@DeadDoorpost how have you been losing weight? I normally do massive calorie restriction which I'm not going to do whist pregnant but I would like to shift a few pounds to be healthier. (I know slimming world is safe but I don't want to do that).

Currently pg with #1 and people reckoned they could see a bit of bump at 16 weeks. On reflection I think it was bloat, as it kind of went away for a bit, and the bump didnt pop out properly till about week 20!

This was me at 18 weeks. I felt quite lumpy!

That looks like a perfect bump @cakesandphotos

@lampert it's been a mixture of HG in the beginning where I couldn't keep anything down (100% don't recommend) and then changes to my diet. Not entirely sure what that's fine but I'm eating a ton of vegetables, then rotating between mince and chicken but not having meat every day. I tend to snack during the day rather than have 3 set meals. It also helps that a lot of it is homecooked including the pizzas we make, and because I'm anaemic I also eat load of tuna or spinach and broccoli.

lampert · 03/10/2017 18:55

@DeadDoorpost poor you with the HG! I am only just 6 weeks and luckily sickness (and in fact mostly symptom free). I seem to want to eat all the time though and all I fancy is carbs but I will absolutely like weight on if I eat loads of carbs. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.

DeadDoorpost · 03/10/2017 21:10

@lampert thanks. Still on anti Sickness tablets so I can keep food down but it's been a struggle not gonna lie. You could always do the slimming world diet but follow it very loosely if you wanted. As long as you remember that at the end of the day the baby is a parasite and feeds off of you first then that's all that matters (midwife calls it a parasite and it's so totally accurate). If you're hungry all the time then the beat snacks are the healthy ones. Fruits, yoghurt, vegetables, whatever floats your boat. My current go-to snack is chocolate spread on toast or rich tea biscuits so it's not all healthy stuff here for me 😂😂
