Hello.
For those of you who've booked early scans in the past, at what stage did you go? Did you see a heartbeat when you went? If you didn't, did you see a heartbeat at a rescan at a later date?

I was 6wks yesterday and really want to book a scan on Sunday when I'll be 6+6. I'm really worried it's still too early though.
The private scan company offer early scans from 6wks so I guess it should be ok.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I went for an early scan last week at 7+2. We did see a strong heartbeat but I'm not sure if you still would at 6 weeks. Maybe try holding out a week or two and your baby will have developed a little more than a bean (that's all we could see) Xx

Thanks @lottiec1
I'll be 6+6 on Sunday, so only three days behind you when you wGent. Surely if you saw a strong heartbeat at 7+2, I'd stand a fairly good chance at 6+6. I'm sure of my dates too.

I had an early scan at 6+4 and saw a strong heartbeat

MrsMarigold · 03/10/2017 14:18

7 weeks saw a strong heartbeat - I went because of spotting

lampert · 03/10/2017 15:43

Ooo following with interest!

MegsMog · 03/10/2017 15:51

Heartbeat at 6+2 here.

hungryhass · 03/10/2017 16:13

6+4 and saw a strong heart beat.

AccrualIntentions · 03/10/2017 16:15

Saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks. My clinic didn't do them earlier than that because of risk of not seeing one because it's too early.

Whereland · 03/10/2017 16:17

At 6 weeks they were able to point out the pregnancy sac- it looked like nothing! At 8 weeks I heard a heartbeat

owltrousers · 03/10/2017 16:18

I went along thinking I was 8 weeks (but unsure, irregular AF) but from the scan they told me I was measuring 6+4 and we saw a heartbeat, they said I was lucky as a few days earlier and it might have been too early for a heartbeat.

I'd wait it out as long as you can to get the best chance of a heartbeat.

Saw heartbeat at 7 weeks I think :)

bettydraper31 · 03/10/2017 19:59

I saw a HB at exactly 6 weeks. Although I made it 6+4 they said 6 weeks. I'm still going on 4 days ahead as I know when i ovulated. X

I had one at 7 weeks and another at 9 and could see a heartbeat at both. It's not the same for everyone though so try not to worry too much Smile

lisara79 · 04/10/2017 07:36

I went at what I thought was 9 weeks exactly... I was sure if my dates but was put back 3 days...apparently very common as you can't account for time it takes sperm to meet egg ect... I obvs saw good heartbeat and all was lovely... by 3 days could make a big difference when you are so early.

flumpybear · 04/10/2017 07:44

I've had loads of early scans, don't be shocked if they tell you you're a different gestation tho as when I went with my son I thought I was six weeks and consultant said I was 5 weeks 1 day according to development - I was then worried tow foetus had stopped growing ... but he's now 5 years old so he's grown loads 😉
