Has anyone else had a cold during pregnancy and felt absolutely shattered from it? All I want to do is sleep and can't seem to wake up! The sneezing and streaming eyes has gone but still congested. Haven't been to work today as I just haven't been up to it. Wouldn't usually take time off for a cold

I had one at 10 weeks pregnant and then was perfectly cold/bug free until now (39+2) so I'm really hoping the cold goes before labour comes my way as I don't fancy taking on labour feeling how I do right now!!

For the record you can use Vicks nasal inhalers and rubs (but not Sufafed) and the soothers pastilles that are essentially just sugar during pregnancy. I was so happy when I found my Vicks inhaler last night I cried a bit!! 😂😂 Hope yours goes soon OP.

Yup I had a horrible cold a few weeks back and it absolutely floored me! I just slept when I had the chance and drank lots of water. Hope you feel better soon x

Sympathies!
Have had a lingering cold for weeks now (or feels like that long). Yesterday was awful! Last time I found Fisherman Friends helped with blocked nose etc but haven't got any yet.

Worst for me is nighttime as I usually use Night Nurse to get me off to sleep. I snuffle away and disturb DH dreadfully!

Got a stinking cold and can only take paracetamol.... I'm 29 weeks and 6 days and feel pants 😒

Yes! 38 weeks here and the past week I've had a dreadful cold and it has completely floored me. Thank God I'm on mat leave as I would really have struggled to go to work. It's taken so long to feel better, would never have dreamed of taking a day off work.for a cold but I definitely would have if id still been.at work.

I’m 17 weeks and have an ear infection and tonsillitis. I could actually cry I feel that sorry for myself

Frisbeefreedom · 02/10/2017 21:43

Another one here. I had today off work, felt guilty as I know I would normally go in to work, but then I would normally be doped up on night nurse/day nurse etc! Now I'm getting better but one of my ears is utterly blocked. What fun...

I've just got over my 3rd cold... first one hit me at 6 weeks for 6 weeks solid and all I did was sleep. Second one hit about 22 weeks I think and again knocked me out. This third one has been 2 weeks long or so and all I've wanted to do was sleep. Immune system has been shot to pieces and I never used to get ill. My best advice is to just take the sleep as it comes if you can. Best thing to do. (But then I don't work so it's easier for me to say that.)

Woke up this morning and feeling better but really light headed and white as a sheet. Ordinarily I would go to work but just feel like I should be 100% before I go back
