Can early baby kicks hurt?

I'm almost 20wks, not sure if I'm feeling baby kicks or stretching pains. Sometimes these last few days I've had a series of little tweaking pains across the area, almost muscle spasm - just quick as if someone had pinched me. Not sure if growing pains, or if the places baby is kicking are tender. First baby so all new.

Usually early baby kicks start feeling like flutters and then progress to gentle thuds. Sharp pains are more likely to be ligaments stretching Smile

Thank you :) Was a bit concerned this was going to be a painful 4 mths! Ligaments sounds about right.

Ligaments and/or wind!

Wind, yes I know that one 😫😂 Very possible too, not thought of that! Thank you!

Yep, sounds like round ligament pain to me too. It does hurt! I've yelled a few times with it.

Trapped wind can be surpringly sore too. I got it all up my back on one side and across my bump. Bloody painful!

Could be stomach twitching or fluttering. There could be a lot of possble reasons on Kicks are not painful especially during the second trimester. There's some discomfort when baby kicks your ribs/bladder, but not that early in pregnancy.
