Are braxton hicks strong enough to keep you awake?

So I'm 38+4 I hardly got any sleep last night with braxton hicks keeping coming and going until about 4 am then I managed to get to sleep, I thought I'd had braxton hicks before but obviously not!. They were quite intense and so uncomfortable rather than painful I would say. Then today it feels like my insides are going to fall out and I feel really delicate does this sound normal?

The pressure is also in my bum too if that makes sense?

I don't think the pressure in your bum is normal for Braxton hicks, that sounds more like a labour thing. I'd definitely ring your midwife for advice.

The pressure thing sounds like labour, I’d get it checked out.

Sounds like labor. The pressure is the baby moving down .

Blahblahboo · 02/10/2017 15:13

That's what labour feels like. As though you are having a huge painful poo

Braxton hicks didn't keep me awake but I knew I was in labour when I lay down and the 'braxton hicks' didn't stop. I hope you're already getting checked out op! If not, please do call hour midwife.

How are you getting on OP?

dede124 · 03/10/2017 16:01

Hi iv had nothing since. I didn't call the midwife because I thought I would wait and see but I'm due to see her Thursday anyway. I keep looking out for signs hoping! Thanks for asking @Lemondrop99 X
