At least 10 trips to the loo per night!

Hi
Is there anything I can do? 17 weeks pregnant but it's been the same for most of pregnancy - I'm visiting the loo on average ten times a night for a pee. Sometimes for nothing more than literally a drop.
I've tried not drinking before bed etc, but it doesn't make any difference. Like I say, even if there's nothing to come out, my body is telling me there is.
It's not half as bad during the day. Thanks

10 times a night sounds excessive tbh. I'd book an appointment with your GP and take a urine sample with you so they can test it for a UTI and rule out any other issues.

They might also be able to recommend pelvic floor exercises etc to give you better control of your pelvic floor.

Do you have IBS, this sometimes is connected with an irritated bladder type condition. I've suffered from it previously but not in pregnancy and can cause a constant need to go.

@clarebear1983 no IBS and also had urine tested recently, but I will book app with doctor. I was the same with pregnancy number 1 too, but like you say, this just feels excessive and really annoying. Always been bad with pelvic floor too. Thanks

I'm the same. Between 7-10 times.. But go loads. Even if I don't drink late.. Altho just had a Cuppa so I know I'll definitely pay the price later lol. Had urine done Fri and all OK. Midwife just said some suffer more.

As you're only going a drop at a time could you try leaving it longer and longer between going?

Alibongo37 · 02/10/2017 11:27

@Mum2oneds good to know it's not just me. Thought as much but you never know, put it out there and just someone may have a miracle cure! :)

@TheCatsMother99 it only becomes the odd drop near the end of the night. Strange though as you still feel like you really need to go!!

This partly suddenly got better for me when I hit 19 weeks. Also I tried a couple of things which seemed to help - firstly, leaning right forward when I pee; and secondly, peeing once every 5 or so minutes for 15 minutes before I go to bed!

Alibongo37 · 02/10/2017 19:15

@LorelaiVictoriaGilmore Interesting. I'll certainly try the latter. The leaning forward one sadly didn't work for me! :(
