I posted about this before but didn't get much.

I had a low level uti that was causing me to want to pee always and hurt. It started about 8 weeks ago and doctors told me it was nothing that there was no infection. Eventually they told me I have interstitial cystitis, which was scary as reading up on that's not fun.

Anyway to cut a long story short, I saw a very specialist doctor who found an infection in me (some sort of very thorough culture) ! He said because the infection has been left to go on for more than 10 days, my bladder is so inflamed and sore and it's going to take a long time (potentially may not resolve itself until after the birth Sad) I'm only 18 weeks!!! He did inform me that interstitial cystitis is very rare and I didn't have that. Thank god.

Anyway I've been treated for the infection but bladder still constantly sore. I've been signed off work indefinitely.

Basically I just wanted some reassurance from other pregger ladies that they use the loo loads too! Obviously I have to contend with inflammed bladder and growing baby. Confused.

Just feeling really shit. I'm basically stuck at home. I can't walk much without my bladder feeling like it's about to fall out of my body.

Can anyone relate???

Hi Op
Sorry to hear you're in pain. I'm afraid I can't help as I have a very similar sounding problem but I have never got to the route of my bladder pain. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind giving me the name of the specialist you saw or the name of the infection/culture they found (if it has a name?!?). What were you given to treat the infection?

Sorry about all the questions- you really have my sympathy as I know only too well how horrible bladder pain can be. Mine has been going on for 20 years which is why I might be sounding desperate! I hope you feel better soon.

Flowers for you, op. Has the Dr given you anything to treat it?

I haven't been diagnosed with anything but can sympathise with needing to wee all the time! I'm 25 weeks and it's just never ending. The midwife has said urine looks fine, no protein or sugar, but I don't know if she tested for anything else... people say that in the 2nd tri the baby is higher and there's less pressure on the bladder, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me. One night I had to wee 3 times in about 40 minutes Shock
