We are looking to get some feedback on an early-stage business idea: a high-quality clothing brand providing premium workwear pieces that are designed, cut and tailored for the expectant professional woman. It's for the woman who has spent 5, 10 or 20 years building a career of which she's proud and who wants to still look and feel herself - polished, elegant and smart - when pregnant.
It was borne of my own frustrations and disappointment with the current maternitywear offering (which is poor enough for casualwear, let alone for women who work in a formal office environment!) when pregnant with my daughter and working in fund management. Now I'm keen to understand if this was just my experience or if this is an unserved market and there's an appetite for a Reiss / COS / LK Bennett / Hobbs equivalent for maternitywear.
