I am 40+6 so in theory baby could be here any day now. I only have a few days left of pregnacare original.....do i buy more, or can i switch to something else? Doc implied i would only need vit d after birth...dont want to spend £s on originals to have to switch to bfeeding ones in a couple of days time. Not cheap!!

The breastfeeding and pregnancy vitamins are actually exactly the same

All you need to take is vitamin D from 12 weeks until you finish breastfeeding.

There's no reason you couldn't switch to just a standard multivitamin if they're cheaper. Most of the own brand ones are much less than pregnacare would be. The only difference in the pregnancy ones really is that that don't have any vitamin A, to prevent vitamin A toxicity, but I wouldn't be worried about that now considering you're about to pop any day. Even if you did develop it (because you are eating loads of liver and getting loads of other synthetic vitamin A from somewhere), it can't harm baby who is fully developed now.

If you're eating a relatively balanced diet, I'd just take Vit D
