Hi all,
Wondered if it's just me that's having the same conversation over and over with everyone I meet?
It goes:
"Oooh when are you due/ how far along are you?"
(I tell them)
"And do you know what it is yet?"
(Insert reply here-sometimes I say yes, sometimes no!)
"And have you got any names yet?"
(This one I now fudge an answer to after only once mentioning the name we've chosen and getting a cat's bum face).
If they're particularly inventive they sometimes ask if I have any more but that's about it.

I'm sure that I have been this banal in the past, and after years of ttc this little one I'm still delighted to chat to anyone and everyone about it but I'd love someone to say something mad and exciting instead!
Anyone else find this and do any of you have any cheeky (but not too rude) answers I can try out on unsuspecting folks?
Thanks!

I'm the same as you in that I don't mind talking about it after years of ttc #2. However, I feel like I may as well record an answer as every time I do drop off and pick up at school I end up muttering "yep, still here. Nope, no baby" at least 5-6 times.

Oh I'm waiting for that 10story, only 30 weeks at the moment but already lots of friends seem to be terrified that they'll miss out on news... "no news yet?", well obviously not due to the massive bump and 2 month+ e.d.d....
Just wish I had a few witty comebacks instead of the same trite answers- I'm even boring myself!

Try being pregnant with dc 11 and reaffirming you do indeed have a TV a million times. .

I've started telling people ridiculous names and keeping a straight face when they look shocked. My great aunt was the best. I've been referring to the baby as Alien for the whole pregnancy (and DM does too) and so GA found out we were having a boy she asked us about names. Deadpan told her 'Atticus Spock' seeing as it's a boy alien. She was not impressed Grin

Mind you, I keep being asked how much longer I've got to go (7.5 weeks) so I might start playing with that and act shocked and say 'probably was due a few weeks ago but I don't remember' just because I can. Don't really like being told i look huge, especially as I lost a load of weight before and during the pregnancy and hate how I look...

I have had my neighbour ask “you still hanging on” since about 28 weeks 🤣.

I’ve stopped the school run and going out now, can’t face people anymore. Roll on Tuesday 😊😰
