sending hugs @AmandaP86x 💗💙

Ohb0llocks · 16/10/2017 14:17

Thanks @BellaMoon

I had DS’s name chosen when he was born and he suited it down to the ground so I’m hoping it’s the same this time round. Just waiting for 36 weeks appointment now!

Also, love the whale outfit, I’ve got the exact same one Grin (for George obviously not me!)

bakingmad83 · 16/10/2017 19:55

Hi ReturnofSaturn, I wouldn't worry too much. We all have different bump sizes - if you're tall you might find there's more room to grow up than out, that's what a mw told me, and if it's your 1st you'll tend to show later anyway. With DS I measured small, but he was born a healthy 7lb 14oz at 40 weeks. If they have concerns they'll refer you for a growth scan to check on growth. Good luck with your pregnancy!

I've got my 36 week appointment tomo. Just hoping mw doesn't wrongly think DD is breech again and need another scan this time round, will be a tad annoying if this happens every fortnight, but appreciate they have to be sure.

If anyone is interested, there's some evidence that eating 6 dates a day may be beneficial from 36 weeks to aid labour and delivery. I've got a bumper pack and am going to start having them chopped on my cereal this week :) Maybe not such a good option if you need to tightly control your blood sugars, but maybe worth a shot if you don't mind dates www.mamanatural.com/dates-during-pregnancy/

Ohb0llocks · 16/10/2017 20:20

Not long since got home. Went to MW appointment, BP high at 144/98 so sent to the antenatal clinic where it rose to 184/106!!

Absolutely terrified the life out of me, they checked a further 2 times where it went to 140/8something and then 126/67, and no trace of protein in Urine so I’ve been allowed to come home, I’ve to go back next week though to be checked again instead of just going until my 38 week appointment.

I’m still sat desperately googling and panicking even though she reassured me things were fine, and that if it was preeclampsia it wouldn’t have come back down without medication etc.

In other news, he’s fully engaged!

Moo31 · 16/10/2017 21:25

@Anna and @Amanda

@Dolly hope Olivia is doing better and you are home?

@Bella I found it so strange all the tiny baby gros etc on the clothes horse - couldn't stop staring at them! Hope your yuckiness has cleared? Damn flu jab!!

@ohb that must have been scary! My dad has white coat syndrome where his bp spikes when he goes to the doc so they always send him home to monitor it himself for a week and it's always fine! Maybe that? Glad it came back down again anyway!

@Naking - hope your app goes well tomorrow! Also have just added dates to the shopping list - thank you! Since I'm not doing very well with drinking the rlt (it makes me feel sick) I will try anything to make labour easier!

Speaking of which i have just attempted perineal massage ... either i have very short arms or I'm not doing it right but I cannot get more than the tip of my thumbs in as my bump is in the way! I tried sitting, standing and lying down and I just cannot get them in far enough. Has anyone else had a go?? Any tips!?

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 16/10/2017 21:39

I'm 30 weeks and 2 days and I'm getting impatient, still 10 weeks to go!

BellaMoon · 16/10/2017 22:27

@Moo31 i found i had to lie on my side, almost recovery position and put my arm around my backside to do the massage BUT it was rather sore. ended up asking DH to do it! dignity right out the window. especially when he thought it was a new form of foreplay only to be given the worlds biggest knock back 😂 i swear iv actually become a virgin again, everything feels rather tight down there! i have been manically doing pelvic floor since my pubic injury but still, it’s rather sore just doing the massage! xx

@Ohb0llocks it’s no wonder your BP shot all over the place if you panicked a bit. i always wonder if they realise that actually. mine was elevated last check but still within limits but as soon as they said that, i got a proper sweat on instantly worrying about preeclampsia! hope you’ve calmed down now xx

good luck at appt tomorrow @bakingmad83 keep us posted. i love dates but sadly won’t be giving them a go due to glucose. i am going to start RLT capsules next week so fingers crossed they aren’t sugar coated lol xx

@ReturnofSaturn i echo what Baking said. every1s bump is relative to them. we’ve all had a few people tell us we are showing big or small, sometimes both in the same day so don’t be too focussed on it. people say the silliest of things. if you are measuring small, maybe ask your mw for a growth scan. they’ll think of that anyway but if it would reassure you, then no harm asking xx

sooo excited for first antenatal class tomorrow night. think DH is about to get a rude awakening as all he talks about is playing with the baby and going swimming etc. not a mention of night feeds, potential colic, teething issues etc. will it be weird if i take a notepad and pen? lol x

AmandaP86x · 16/10/2017 23:01

Hey lovely ladies

@BellaMoon absolutely killing my self at the massage story hahahhaa u crack me up!!! Iv not even thought about that yet honestly lol!

I am having the worst pain on my left hand side even if I lean on it for more than a minute the bloody pain is unbearable!!! Had to resort to some pain killers then felt so guilty lol!!!! Think it’s muscle or ligament pain bloody loupin!

How many of you have a nursery done??? I have a bloody bathroom suite in mine waiting to get done first starting to get anxious about it!!! Dp keeps saying chillll we have plenty time!!!! I’m going to burst him shortly

My diet has been terrible this weekend honestly so tomorrow Iv made a pact with myself to make some homemade soup etc. Weather slightly wild in Scotland today sky was really weird @BellaMoon did u see it???

bakingmad83 · 17/10/2017 06:07

Good to here your bp came down by itself Ohb0llocks and hopefully you'll get reassurance from extra bp check next week.

Maybe try the rlt capsules Moo instead? I'm still just having 1 cup a day, but thought I'd up it to 2, though not sure if I'll remember to have 3 cups a day. Hope you enjoy the dates better! I'm another one whose got DH to do perineal massage both pregnancies :)

Thanks and enjoy your antenatal class Bella. There was one lady with a notepad at ours last time round, but don't think she ended up writing much as we got a lot of handouts.

Hope your pain has eased Amanda. We had red sky in Cumbria too, meant to be down to sand from the Sahara I think. I've felt so hungry the last week or two, which is strange as I'm now doing less, but know baby puts on a fair bit of weight in final weeks, so maybe it's that.

BellaMoon · 17/10/2017 06:57

@AmandaP86x could you have pulled a muscle do you think? doesn’t sound great at all! hey, don’t beat yourself up about the painkillers as i’m now popping 10 pills a day, all prescribed of course. i felt terrible even taking 1 paracetamol earlier in pregnancy but between injury and now diabetes, i rattle when i walk! get that side pain checked out!

DH says he feels like a teenager again due to the amount of masturbating he’s doing as there is zero sexing going on. i do feel terrible but the thought never crosses my mind. then when he brings it up, i can’t even guilt myself into it. i feel bad i really do. we were newly weds when we started TTC but seems like we’ve fast forwarded 10 year’s 😂 it’ll be separate beds soon (oh god i hope i get my mojo back at some point!)

yes the gusty wind has been wild today, not to mention how bloody dark it was all morning. did see some of the red sun too.

i don’t know if any1 else will get this apart from @AmandaP86x and @Dollydaydream2829 but we have a habit of renaming storms in Scotland. apparently this one is now known as “Hurricane Yer Da Sells Avon” 😂 that’s such a dig isn’t it.

how’s you @Moo31 not sure if NI got the same force as southern Ireland from Ophelia xx

BellaMoon · 17/10/2017 07:05

@AmandaP86x nursery also not finished! thankfully just waiting on furniture but walking into this room and seeing bags and boxes lying around really is getting on my
nerves. are you waiting on your OH fitting the new bathroom suite? i have asked DH to refit some ceiling lights and fix a dodgy shower head, chances are i’ll be getting someone in to do it as he’s not playing ball. oh just realised, maybe he’s on strike for lack of sexing 😂

Ohb0llocks · 17/10/2017 09:35

Was dark yesterday here too in Lancashire, and we had the weird red sun!

Just had a phone call from the hospital, my bloods have come back from the lab all clear 😬 thank god. I’ve been dreaming about bloody blood pressure all night.

bakingmad83 · 17/10/2017 20:11

That must be a relief Ohb0llocks :)

If you don't feel like it Bella, you don't feel like it, not much you can do :) Just trying to make the most of sex prebirth at the mo here, as wasn't able to manage it till DS was 5 months old and probs only did it once a month till he was a year, as pain and swelling made it uncomfortable. Hoping things might be a bit better this time round though :)

36 week appointment went ok. Mw managed to convince herself DD is head down. Still 3cm behind, but grown 2cm in a fortnight, so she seemed happy enough with that for growth. Was a bit surprised to be weighed, as never did with DS after booking, but think the forms have changed, as space for 3rd trimester weight gain. Thankfully mw wasn't bothered by how little I've gained, just said some women only gain weight of baby and not much else.

BellaMoon · 17/10/2017 21:32

@Ohb0llocks so pleased your BP is fine. must have just been a blip thank goodness xx

@bakingmad83 decided i’m going in for the kill tonight, i’m bringing sexy back 😂 worried that there won’t be much in last 2 months and god know where my sex drive will be like when baby is here so it’s now or never haha

first antenatal went well. class was v busy and interactive. wasn’t boring but wasn’t too full of info either. back next week for physio birthing coaching, imagine that’ll be breathing and positions etc for labour. looking forward to it actually.

right, in the words of Missy Elliot, i’m away to “get my freak on” 😂

AmandaP86x · 18/10/2017 10:34

No I’m waiting on him getting someone to do it!!!! Swear to god I might lose the plot haha !!!

@BellaMoon did u go to jan Stewart did u say? I seen a lovely pram cover someone on fb had and she said she got it from there so might take a wee trip through next week!!!

Killing my self at the hurricane yer da sells Avon lol classic Scots!!! It was a wild night the other night right enough.

I don’t think it’s a pulled muscle because it’s absolutely fine sometimes it’s when I lie on it 😟 been ok today right enough.

Ohb0llocks · 18/10/2017 11:27

I’m a bit relieved but kind of feel like I’m symptom spotting now! And getting myself really worked up about it. I’ve reached that fed up stage where I just want him out, and my body back!

bakingmad83 · 18/10/2017 12:44

Glad you enjoyed your class Bella, hope you enjoyed your sexy time too :)

Hopefully you won't have too much longer to wait to meet DS2 Ohb0llocks if you're engaged already, as think it usually happens closer to arrival with subsequent babies?

Ohb0llocks · 18/10/2017 14:47

I bloody hope so. I’m tempted to have a root up there see if there’s anything going on that I can feel.

Ohb0llocks · 18/10/2017 14:58

Also, is anyone else doing a strep b test? Going to do mine later and get it posted. Can be done from 35 weeks?

BellaMoon · 18/10/2017 19:59

@bakingmad83 had to abandon my sexy time as walked into the bedroom, giving it seductive susie, only to find DH scrubbing cat sick off the bed whilst retching so bad! the cat had been sick on the bed right next to him and it made him feel sick too! typical! seductive susie is back tonight, just about to interrupt a football match. he’ll be a dead man walking if he doesn’t take up this offer 😂

yeah @AmandaP86x i ended up using Jan Stewart for travel system, crib and furniture. She has some lovely stuff there! i’m due to go collect my Snuzpod this weekend, i’m so excited 😆 glad your pain has subsided xx

@Ohb0llocks it’s so easy to become fixated on symptoms isn’t it. remember when we all used to symptom spot around 6dpo whilst TTC? the crazy ride that is TTC eh. hoping the rest of your wait is smooth chic. wish we could fast forward time! i’m not sure what you mean about Strep B testing yourself? i assumed the hospital check that when in labour?! xx

how are you all? been fairly quiet on updates lately. any appts, scans or milestones?

i’m off for my growth scan tomorrow, along with GD review. bloods even worse since they increased my medication. can’t work that out at all. fully expecting insulin now but can only hope not.

xx

Ohb0llocks · 18/10/2017 20:19

I know!

I was working in a salon that I’d been at for one day (temp thing) when I found out and the owner was saying how she was gonna start trying and I was just sat there like ‘ohmyfuckinggoddddd’

I had a feeling I was after a super faint Asda test, so I did my morning wee in a flask, dropped DS at Nursery and went to Superdrug on the way in. Dipped in the multi story and noticed the line next to some roadworks just by kfc. Bet you can’t beat that for #class

Left it 2 days and did a clear blue because I couldn’t bloody hold off. Got pregnant 1-2 a week before I was due on!!

Ohb0llocks · 18/10/2017 20:21

But as for GBS They definitely don’t do it here; you’re in Scotland aren’t you so possibly a bit different?

If you’re positive you need antibiotics IV for at least 2 hours before birth apparantly.

Lots of info here gbss.org.uk

Test was £39.99, posted to you, you swab your front and back bum, pop swabs in a thing and whack it in the post.

Anna2006 · 18/10/2017 22:36

@ohb0llocks oh no sorry to hear about your spike in BP. Glad it came back down though. I don't think it sounds like it will be too long until you meet your little one! Exciting that the 2nd PMA baby could be any time soon.

@bellamoon hoping you don't need to do the insulin injections. Fingers crossed for you!

We had a mare with our bassinet crib for our room being delivered. Had gone to a neighbours supposedly and signed for but no one had it. We checked with everyone! Complained to courier. Got home today 2 days later an it was on our doorstep?! Bizarre. God knows where it had been lol. Set it up an very excited for a baby to be in!! Wish I was as close to meeting mine as some of you ladies.

Got my 25 midwife appointment tomorrow so interesting to see where I will measure and what little one is upto

Xx

bakingmad83 · 19/10/2017 06:18

Hope it was 2nd time lucky for your sexy time Bella :) Hope all goes well at your scan and appointment today.

Hope you have a good appointment too Anna. Deliveries are bizarre sometimes aren't they - had Hermes deliver a parcel for us yesterday and left it on our doorstep, but the slip they posted through the door said they'd left it in a safe place (our doorstep is about 3ft from the main road in full view of everyone!). Plan to get the Moses basket, rocker chair and baby gym down soon do DS gets used to them prebaby :)

Dollydaydream2829 · 19/10/2017 08:39

Morning ladies!

Hope you're all well and looking forward to babies soon moo, baking and ohb

Hope you managed your sexytime bella - we last had sex at around 31 weeks and will prob be off the table for a good while yet - poor DH! Mind you, exhaustion is defo a passion killer!! Lol!

Exciting that you've got your bassinet anna - good luck at your 25 week appt!

I got tested for group B strep when they discovered my waters broke early. Think cos there's a risk it was due to infection. Thankfully I tested negative for any infection. I think it's mad that they don't routinely test for it but must be down to cost.

Olivia is now 11 days old - can't believe she's that already. The past 11 days have been an absolute whirlwind of sleepless nights, dirty nappies and feeds. Finding it really difficult at nighttimes - up every 3hours to feed, even if she's still sleeping, due to her prematurity. By the time she's latched on and fed, changed and winded, over an hour has passed and back to sleep for an hour and a half. Although, I still only have to look at her before I'm reminded how lucky I am and how much she's worth it! So anyone who is lucky enough to be able to sleep in their pregnancies - do it!!
