Glad your now home ohb. Enjoy your two little men 💙

Good luck on induction DuRezidal! Won’t be long for you now.

bella had lovely relaxing weekend thanks. An enjoyed my spa treatment very much. Will keep my fingers crossed for you for Thursday on steady growth of the little man! How exciting - nursery furniture yay. Ours is being delivered in couple of weeks time. An I will be itching to get it up!

Baking sounds like things may be progressing slightly that way so least that is good news even if birth is no imminent. Just a little longer to wait. We are going to have a lot of babies on here very soon I think. Currently even with one pink and one blue!

bakingmad83 · 01/11/2017 06:48

Thanks Anna, happy for her to stay put for a couple of weeks longer if she's going to be a bit smaller than DS and in fairness I'm still feeling really well and not in discomfort, so can't complain if I do go over. Your nursery will be sorted in no time :) Got baby rocker seat and baby gym out the loft yesterday - DS went a bit crazy with the rocker, but better he gets that out his system now than once his sister is in it :)

AmandaP86x · 01/11/2017 09:41

Aww congrats OB he is a wee dream! Hope u r settling in at home!!!

Sorry for being MIA girls been on dayshifts some three in a row and I’m now back for 2 nightshifts like fuck sake!!!! 😭😭

@BellaMoon my bathroom is still up in the air at the minute!!!!!!!! Doing my head in!

Also don’t feel organised for this baby at all. Once the bathroom is done I can focus on it better.

Hope u r all week. Whose due next? Can’t believe it’s all coming round so quickly !!! Xxx

Pranpreeya157D · 01/11/2017 11:34

Hi ladies, I'm 34 weeks and this is my first. I'm now notice that I am having a bit of light headache on and of now and again ! Should I bee worried? I don't have any swollen hand or feet tho.
Should I just call the midwife and see what they say?

Roseandbee · 01/11/2017 12:37

When are you going on maternity Amanda? I could not being doing with those shifts right now! Still plenty of time for the baby stuff although I’ve been stressing for weeks about stuff I need to do before arrival.

Hope all is going well @Durezidal !

I did 4d scan yesterday as it was on offer for £35 was maybe not going to bother as I’m 28weeks with anterior placenta and didn’t realise it’s best to go before 26 weeks if that’s the case. Baby was snuggled up to it and also umbilical cord up there and constant face touching, which she must get from DH but still enjoyed it and got a few ok pics, love the one where she’s snuggled up to my belly/placenta

bakingmad83 · 01/11/2017 12:47

Sorry you've had some bad shift patterns Amanda. Still plenty time to get organised for baby :) Think it's Moo due next.

Your headaches could be unrelated to pregnancy Pranpreeya, but you could always ring your midwife for reassurance and then she can let you know if you need to go in for bp check and urine dip.

DuRezidal · 01/11/2017 20:02

Our little boy arrived at 2.02 today at 38 + 4.

It all happened very quickly so my plan of am epidural did not quite materialise! I ended up delivering on just gas and air

Dollydaydream2829 · 01/11/2017 20:11

Congrats duRez on the safe arrival of your baby boy!
That also seems to be a common theme in the PMA group - my labour progressed so fast, I didn't have time for pain relief either! Very intense but I reckon better because it's over quicker!
Hope you're enjoying lots of lovely cuddles!

Congrats!!

bakingmad83 · 03/11/2017 20:09

How did your appointment and growth scan go yesterday Bella?

How are you doing Moo? It's this weekend DH is away at wedding, but touch wood no signs to say she's going to appear in the next day or two, though I probs shouldn't say that!

OnNaturesCourse · 03/11/2017 20:28

Right ladies, it seems I need to stop my "bring on labor" efforts. DP just got an appointment for a overnight hospital test 10 days before my due date. Either I'll be home alone and pregnant (sods law I'll go into labor, right?) or home alone with a new born. Neither of which appeals to me!

My 2nd birthing partner is on holiday that week too so I'll literally be on my own that night. 😑 puts away the birthing ball and stops nipple teasing..

OnNaturesCourse · 03/11/2017 22:10

Ironic after my last post...

Ladies I'm so sorry for the off topic TMI post but I feel as if I can ask... Had those crampy period like pains along with low back ache and groin pain this morning. Nothing sore just dull and achey like the first day of a period. A soak in the bath didn't ease it however after a while, and few gas passes, it eased. I put it down to gas but... The aches are back, and have been for a while. Just been for pee before going for another bath to try ease it and afterwards I stood up and caught sight of myself in the mirror... Massive string of discharge dangling half way down my thigh 🤗 naturally I pulled at it to investigate and it just kept coming! It was mixed thick white with clear bits, no blood etc and not gloopy but running snot like. Very elastic. I then tensed my belly and more came out. I'd say overall the size was that of a 2£ coin, maybe more. No horrid smell or anything. Could this be the final part of my plug? Previous gloopy, lumpy discharge was the start of my plug coming away according to the midwife. Or is it just braxton hicks pushing things out? Again I'm really sorry about the TMI. May give hospital a call after my bath if I'm still achy.

Moo31 · 03/11/2017 22:37

@ONC most of us are first timers - I would definitely give the hospital a call if I were you.

@Rose - 😍 4d scan

@durez congrats! 😀

@Amanda hope you are taking it a bit easier now after crazy shifts! Any progress on your bathroom?

@baking hope dd got the memo to stay put this weekend! 😂 I'm doing good 😊 no signs here either 😕 First week of my mat leave over (although I ended up doing a final half day on Monday). Feel like I've spent the week cooking and cleaning with a few coffee dates thrown in for good measure! It's very strange. I also bought a new car today - talk about last minute! - getting it on Mon provided baby doesn't decide to appear over the weekend! Due date is next Fri and the thought of another 2 weeks of hanging around ... 🙈 I'm bouncing away on my ball, drinking my rlt and had spicy meals most nights this week ... Also finally got nursery finished although I know baby won't be in it for ages yet but I just wanted it sorted so I didn't have to think about it when baby is here (I will take and post some pics in the daylight).

How is everyone doing?? Any exciting weekend plans?? Anyone else sorted their nursery / bought any baby stuff / decided on baby names / has a recent scan??

Moo31 · 03/11/2017 22:39

I also might have just bought all of babies Christmas presents - talk about getting carried away lol!!! I'm so excited 🎅☃🎁🎄

Moo31 · 03/11/2017 22:39

*baby's

bakingmad83 · 04/11/2017 06:49

Hope all goes well at your DP's hospital test when it comes round OnNaturesCourse. With my DH being away today and first part of tomo I'm not planning to do anything too strenuous, just a short walk with DS in his pram when he needs a nap, though do have to clean and tidy the house as got a house viewer coming round this afternoon. It could be your plug, think how it appears varies from person to person, but doesn't hurt to get in touch for reassurance if you aren't sure.

Thanks Moo. I've upped my rlt to 3 cups a day and doing more bouncing on ball rather than just sitting on it (though not this weekend!). Went out for tea at the pub over the road on Weds and had their "hot madras" just because I fancied it and the manager said "You trying to induce?" Apparently they had another lady in from village recently who had it for that reason :) Been trying to do batch cooking the last few weeks too. DS's Christmas presents are wrapped, just want a few stocking fillers for DD, still to get them, but not sure what she realistically might need. What car did you go for?

BellaMoon · 04/11/2017 07:14

morning all 🤗

hoping DD stays putt for you this weekend @bakingmad83. have everything crossed! glad to hear you’re also feeling ok too xx

my scan & consultant appt went fairly well on thurs. my glucose levels still not the best so insulin upped again. growth scan showed that baby has only gained a few grams in last 2wks so re-scanned & checked over placenta, fluids and cord, organs etc and all in perfect working order so no panic from docs. it could just mean the insulin is controlling things for baby better than me. hopefully this will mean a far more average birth weight than the anticipated 11lbs! #thankfook

rather than see them again next week i get a reprieve and don’t need to go back til fortnight and i’ll be 35wks and we will set a birth plan. they confirmed 100% 38wk delivery which i kept dreaming they’d change their minds! so i have 4.5wks to go til i get to squish my boys wee cheeks and sniff every inch of him! i cannot frigging wait! the consultants words were “just because he hasn’t shown exponential growth this fortnight we are still expecting a large baby. please come in 2wks with an open mind
about mode of delivery. at this stage, i would still recommend C section” so i’m not going to argue either way. they feel like even if i attempted natural delivery we could end up in a trauma/emergency situation due to his wide shoulders.

@Moo31 that sounds like a pretty nice first week of mat leave! and super pleased you ticked the nursery off your list! my furniture is due for delivery on monday then i need to find a joiner to build it. i cannot allow DH to try to assemble expensive items. he’s the kinda guy who hammers in screws! looking forward to seeing your nursery - i have a feeling that ours might look similar #greyobsessed

@AmandaP86x bathroom finished?
hoping you’re well chic. did you ever get over to Jan Stewart? i just picked up my Snuzpod and built it last night from there. i must say their service has been 2nd to none xx

@Roseandbee awww your scan pics are beaut. love love love them! how are you feeling? x

@OnNaturesCourse i’m a first timer so don’t have much experience to call from to give any advice on your issue i’m afraid. defo give the midwife or triage a call. hope all is well xx

@Dollydaydream2829 how’s life settling with baby Olivia? are you getting out and about much? i heard from a friend yday who is breastfeeding and she’s finding it difficult to arrange anything as some days her baby is regular 3hr feeds and others he is never off the boob. i wondered if that’s the case with others! i’d really struggle with that as i’m such a planner and hate cancelling plans (i know babies feed anywhere but as a new mum i don’t know how comfortable i’ll feel getting my bazongas out!) xx

had an early start this morning but lazed around so now in a rush to get ready for getting my hair done (i have roots longer than your average finger lol) then i’m off to my friends baby shower. i got her a cake from the lady that did my wedding cake so i will defo be having some later, glucose monitoring or not YUM!

sorry if i missed any1, now in a mad rush. hope y’all have a fab weekend xxx

Dollydaydream2829 · 04/11/2017 09:21

That sounds like positive signs nature and would be typical for timing. Like the others have said, there's no harm in phoning for advice.

You sound super prepared now moo - I'm so excited for you! What kind of car did you get? And well done for getting the nursery sorted. We're still doing that and it's so hard with a newborn!

I'm also very excited for you too baking - although hope baby behaves this weekend with you being on your own! Good luck with the viewer!

Good news about your appt bella - well, in terms of the baby's growth. And for the section date at 38 weeks! Although I'm sure it's not your preferred mode of delivery, at this stage, I'm sure all you care about is the safest way! And you get to meet baby sooner! So exciting!

I have found breastfeeding really hard. In fact, I'd go so far as to say i preferred my labour to the establishing of feeding. The only reason I've stick with it is cos I'm stubborn and when it goes well, I absolutely love the closeness of having her there and the thought that I'm feeding my baby myself. Everybody keeps saying it gets better around 6-8 weeks and I'm 4 weeks down the line now so I'm clinging on to that. On saying that, it is getting A LOT easier and we have more good days than bad now but similarly to your friend, it's really difficult to make concrete plans or get out the house for a certain time. I had an all day wedding last week which i was dreading but im so glad we went as i had a lovely time and i actually braved my first public feed. I was so nervous but it went so well and i covered myself with a long scarf. It was so discreet that a man came over to see the baby and just about died when he realised i was feeding! Haha! Otherwise, I make sure I go out for a walk every day with the dog but that's been cos DH has still been off work. He goes back on Monday so that's when the real fun begins. It truly is the best thing that's ever happened to me is having her, and thankfully she is a dream in all other ways - sleeps well, is content a lot of the time and no signs of colic (YET!) Considering how premature she was, Im so lucky at how amazing she's doing. I can't wait until all you ladies join in the crazy journey and keep me company during the night feeds

Sounds like insulin is helping to control baby's growth nicely Bella. Really not long for you either now, may not be much of a gap between our babies if I end up 2 weeks overdue :)

Glad to hear feeding is getting easier for you Dolly.

I must admit I didn't go out a great deal in the first 3 months after I had DS other than walks round village or trips out with DH. DS was a boob monster from the word go, but I wonder if staying in just reinforced the habit, as found once we went out more he was distracted by other things and realised there was more to life than just boob! Imagine we'll get out a lot more this time round, as DS goes to various playgroups and activities, so he'll need to carry on as normal. I fed for the first time out at 10 days old last time and would be happy to feed out and about from the start. I never really encountered any probs with public feeding and DS fed out in the daytime till he was about 21 months. Only once did someone take offence and even then they didn't say anything - just gave me a dirty look and changed tables in a café so they didn't have to watch...not that there was anything to see anyway. I found feeding hoodies a good option - I like my casual clothes anyway - as they have zips/access at the sides/front so you can easily pop baby on if you have a strappy top beneath. Never did get measured for nursing bra, just did home measurement. Friend recommended Emma Jane nursing bras and sent me one she'd used - can get them various places including Boots online, though waiting to come back in stock. You choose whichever back size you need, but each goes up to an F cup, which is handy, as you don't know how big you'll get once your milk comes in and then settles down.

Thanks Bella, Moo and Dolly. Had quite a bit of pressure in my bottom today, so thinking maybe DD has moved lower still. She can arrive after lunchtime tomo if she likes, just needs to stay put till then :)

Moo31 · 04/11/2017 20:45

Lol @baking you'll have me checking in here every 10 mins to see if your pressure turns into anything more. I love the sound of your local pub! 😀 i made a madras tonight and threw a few extra chillis in for good measure - it was the hottest curry I've ever had lol if that doesn't move baby I give up!!

@Dolly you are doing so well with the feeding, I read that there's a high % of people who start and don't persevere. I've also been warned by loads of people how difficult it is but to stick with it and it gets easier ... I hope I can! Glad wee Olivia is doing well 😍

I am totally nesting (or maybe just using it as an excuse to have a long overdue clear out because oh can't say no lol!!) Just done a big clear out of our roofspace (runs down the side of the house so no climbing ladders!) There were boxes in there that haven't been opened since we moved in 2.5yrs ago!

Forgot to take pics in daylight today but yes @Bella i would say our nurseries will be very similar - grey walls and white furniture 😀 I love it!

I've gone for a golf - grey of course! The q3 will just have to wait another few yrs as I just couldn't justify it while on mat pay!

Moo31 · 04/11/2017 20:48

Hit post but hadn't finished! @Bella hope you enjoyed your pampering? Have u finished work? Great to hear ds growth has slowed down and 38 week delivery sounds good as you'll get to meet baby at least 2 weeks and possibly 4 weeks earlier than you would otherwise! And none of this waiting around not knowing if today is the day! As baking said c/section probably not your preference but if it's safest for you and baby then it will be the best way.
