Good luck for today Ohb0llocks

I've never leaked either pregnancy OnNaturesCourse, but sounds like a good idea to collect the colostrum you're producing now. I tried expressing once DS was here, but got very little out even though I exclusively breastfed till 6 months and kept on going for another two years - guess I'm just one of those women who just can't express much

OnNaturesCourse · 24/10/2017 11:38

Good luck OhB Flowers

Ohb0llocks · 24/10/2017 12:31

BP fine this morning. All fine on scan. He looks to weigh about 6lb 9 at the minute, is that a good weight?

Back in Thursday am for another bp check and then the big event on Friday!

OnNaturesCourse · 24/10/2017 14:41

How far along are you Ohb?

My little bump was "small" at 2lbs 8oz at 30 weeks... Think it should be around 3lbs+ then I think half a pound for each week after?

Ohb0llocks · 24/10/2017 14:45

37 weeks yesterday.

Scan lady (can’t even remember the proper name) said he was doing his little breathing practices too which I’m guessing is a good sign!

OnNaturesCourse · 24/10/2017 14:47

I'd say the weight is pretty spot on then! Keep in mind the scan isn't 100% at measuring weights. Brilliant about the breathing however, so long as bump has that mastered!! I think that's one of the main things xx

Dollydaydream2829 · 24/10/2017 15:51

Sorry, just catching up on this now - sounds like you've been through a rough ride recently ohb - but keep the faith and keep focused on the fact that you're doing what's safest for your baby and you'll get to meet baby so soon!!
I remember being scared and worried about everything at the time but that was the one thing that got me through!

Good luck and keep us all posted!!

BellaMoon · 24/10/2017 21:47

glad everything went ok today @Ohb0llocks and that weight sounds absolutely fine for a new born to me. how fab that he’s nailed the breathing process too, sounds like he’s ready for his birthday. keep us posted on how you’re doing xx

final antenatal just finished, was hard going tonight as a lot of listening and sitting still which i seem to have an issue with at the mo lol. little miss fidgety knickers, that’s me. so restless it’s annoying!

how’s you and Olivia doing @Dollydaydream2829 ? good i hope! xx

i had a dream about you last night @Moo31 - random i know! you were in labour and decided to do a web chat with us all (note i said web chat not web cam, that would just be too weird even for a dream!). only reason i know it was you was cos of your NI accent! promise i’m not a mad stalker! just so you know, you did really well, just gas & air and whole labour was 4 hours (as you asked us to time it) haha

32 weeks tomorrow for me, nothing new to report, which is quite refreshing as i seem to have had an eventful pregnancy since week 23/24!

about to start RLT just incase they decide i’m not getting a section. perineal massage isn’t happening as much as i hoped due to it being bloody sore, suppose i’ll regret it if i don’t go for it so as they say in Scotland “head down, arse up” and just get on with it, literally! 😂 xxx

bakingmad83 · 25/10/2017 06:49

Sounds like your little boy is all ready for the outside world Ohb0llocks practicing his breathing movements :) Re weight you can look at your personalised growth chart in your green notes to see where the weight falls - for DD at 37 weeks just based on measurements with tape it's just above 10th centile, which for me is 6lb and at 40 weeks would be around 7lb 8oz. If your DS is 6lb 9oz now he'd likely be well over 8lb if you went to 40 weeks and even more if you went overdue, so a good weight :)

Hope all's going well Dolly!

Perineal massage isn't pleasant Bella is it, but at least RLT is an easy addition to your day :)

Dollydaydream2829 · 25/10/2017 17:50

Oh Bella - I was due to start perineal massage the week that i delivered. I'm pretty glad I managed to avoid it and only needed two stitches so don't give yourself too hard a time if you don't manage. RLT is supposed to be great though!

I'm just still so in love ladies. I can't stop looking at her! Still struggling with the night feeds for tiredness but once I'm up, I really don't feel tired in the day. It's bizarre. Initial breastfeeding problems seem to be improving and she's feeding from me a lot better - I have thrush in my nipples though so we're both on treatment - it's VERY painful and was just about to throw in the towel and go onto formula but I love it when it goes well and she's finally turned a corner and started gaining weight so going to persevere as long as I can! I can't wait til you all start having your babies so we can all share in the joy and worries together!

bakingmad83 · 25/10/2017 20:28

Glad to hear that initial breastfeeding probs have smoothed out and you're enjoying feeding Dolly :) Heard thrush when feeding can be very painful, was lucky to avoid it, but good you're both getting treatment.

How are you doing today Ohb0llocks?

I'm 37 weeks tomo, hoping DD will stay comfy for a bit longer, but looking forward to meeting her some time in the next 5 weeks :)

Roseandbee · 25/10/2017 23:26

It’s encouraging to hear you have energy during the day, I picture I’ll be a complete zombie. We should be having more babies on the thread soon, I love hearing how people are doing, I sometimes peak at the postnatal forums.

Hope your doing ok ohb and managing to get some rest and relax a bit. I’m starting to struggle with anxiety now too, although I don’t even really have a reason. I just keep feeling panicked about everything, been putting the relaxation hypnosis on which does help.

Glad things are settling down this week Bella. How many classes did you have? My classes start in November. I think I’ve only had one dream to do with being pregnant/babies, which is weird as it’s on my mind all the time and all I seem to watch or read is stuff to do with pregnancy, labour and childcare.

Full term tomorrow then baking! Quite a milestone, it’s comforting to know your babies good to go now. I’m heading into the third trimester on Friday (well if u count it from 28 weeks, the number seems to vary)

So how many of you have packed your hospital bags? I’ll prob start thinking about mine soon, especially with the early baby arrival trend on here

OnNaturesCourse · 26/10/2017 01:53

Rose... Now that's organized. I only packed mine last week at 34+ weeks, and only at the insistence of DP (think he was panicking I wouldn't pack and it would fall to him lol)

Still got a few bits to pop in but... I'll get there eventually!

Off to the midwife later in the hope we can talk about sweeps (eugh..) and the possibility of early induction (which I hope to avoid like the plague) Any tips on how to get this baby bouncing down and out myself once midwife gives me the all clear? Xx

bakingmad83 · 26/10/2017 06:54

I started packing my hospital bags at 34 weeks Rose, but only added the last bits this week and still to get nursing bras.

Do you have an exercise ball OnNaturesCourse? Walking as much as your SPD and ankle injury allows may also help. I only had one sweep last time, on due date, but I'd already had a bloody show the day before and went into labour the day after due date. I think they only really work if you're good to go. Tbh I didn't find the sweep a prob, the mild discomfort was nothing compared to the pain once labour was underway. Hopefully you'll go into labour naturally and won't need a sweep/induction.

OnNaturesCourse · 26/10/2017 08:12

My ball is due to be delivered today 😁

As far as I am aware they don't want me going overdue, save my pelvis some. It's my first though and I keep hearing that "everyone" goes over with their first...

BellaMoon · 26/10/2017 08:25

just the 2 antenatal classes @Roseandbee and both done now. 2 hours each mind you! found them interesting but sitting down talking and listening for that long after a long day at work was a struggle. have a feeding class booked for 5th dec and that’s a wrap xx

my hospital bag is packed, as is baby’s. DH has a list of what he needs but i’m leaving him to sort that himself as he hasn’t done many baby chores recently (he’s been great with the house etc, just dragging his heels with picking a monitor and sorting some stuff in the nursery).

one thing that wasn’t on my list for my bag that was mentioned in my antenatal class was a small handheld fan. they do have them in the hospital apparently but are allocated to ladies in labour so if you need it in the early stages or postnatally then you should take your own. thought that was a good shout as the maternity wards are bloody roasting!

aw good to hear from you @Dollydaydream2829 and so pleased to hear Olivia is gaining weight. sorry to hear
about the thrush, oucho! hope everyday means a step closer to less issues and more settling into family life!

i have realised that i’m only focusing on pre-birth and not giving a second thought to post natal life. i’m going to have to get my head around life with a baby, life as a mum and family life. i’m excited but must admit a little scared too!

exciting times @bakingmad83 baby could be en route any day, albeit you’d much rather see out your 40 weeks i bet. there has been an early trend on our thread so you never know xx

i’m fully expecting @Moo31 next update to be my dream came true and baby is here hhaha. how weird would that be!

@OnNaturesCourse agree with Baking that if you get on your big ball and rotate your hips, the chances of baby getting into position are greater. just learned this at antenatal class so good luck! plenty gravity related movements so less lying down and more moving, sex, warm baths etc xx

patiently waiting to go into my diabetes review at hospital. after boasting the other day that i hadn’t had any new issues i have woke the last 2-3 mornings with really blurry eyesight (considering i paid a lot of money for laser eye surgery earlier this year, this does freak me out). quick google had me fearing its high BP or worse, deterioration due to the gestational diabetes so i’m going in to fully inform them and hope there’s advice for me. c’est la vie... what a bloody waste if my surgery results were so short lived 🙈

OnNaturesCourse · 26/10/2017 10:33

The movement would be lush. Stupid SPD. Hopefully using the exercise ball once DP is home to help will get baby shifted into position.

Ohb0llocks · 26/10/2017 13:14

I’m ok, just getting very very nervous now! Had a failed sweep this morning, cervix is very high so that’s a bit disheartening. But I’m more upset at leaving DS.

@BellaMoon I bloody hope it’s not high BP but any visual disturbance please please get checked out ASAP.

Had another bp profile done this morning too and it seems to be hovering around 130/70 and 140/90

Pranpreeya157D · 26/10/2017 14:31

Hi ladies
Had the result back from blood test an it's not ICP phewwwww..
I'm gonna start packing my hospital bag today(33 weeks) , well some bits to get but more i am more positive now xxx hope all of you are in the top not x

Roseandbee · 26/10/2017 16:31

That’s good news pran

What time are you going in tomorrow ohb?

I’m not actually very organised, when I say think about packing it, that’s all I’ll do for a few weeks lol. But I’ll start doing some research and making sure I have all the bits i need. Do newborns ever fit into the 0-3 month clothes? or are you supposed to by “newborn” I was thinking of buying newborn stuff last minute so I could return if I don’t use it.

Hope your eye thing isn’t permanent Bella! I’ve been thinking a lot about post natal life, keep watching vlogs about like day in the life with a newborn. I have so little experience with babies. I’m finding the vlogs really useful even to just get used to baby sounds and movements as otherwise I think I’d be running to the hospital eveytime the baby twitched, gurgled or sneezed

Moo31 · 26/10/2017 18:12

Sorry to disappoint @Bella but no baby here yet haha!! I love your dream though - a 4 hour labour sounds good to me so hoping you can see into the future!! I am not ready at all - bag is 90% packed but did it so long ago i really need to check it again. Nursery is finally painted but is void of furniture which still needs built!

Unfortunately I have just been awol as it's my last week of work and it's been bloody mental!! :(:( I could cry! Trying to get stuff handed over and finished up and it doesn't help that they didn't get any cover so I'm handing jobs over to lots of different people. Plus I'm a control freak so I don't trust any of them!! Also freaking out about not going to work lol

I have done a quick catch up but once I get work out of the way I'll catch up properly.

@ohb sorry you've been having a rough time!

@dolly sorry to hear about the thrush!

BellaMoon · 26/10/2017 18:59

argh 😤 just typed a big reply to you all and it’s gone. that sums up my day!

@Moo31 glad you’re still hanging in there, i’ll forward plan another dream for maybe a fortnights time? would you rather the web chat or web cam? 😂 i’m a bit of a control freak @ work too BUT when our squidgy wee babas arrive i bet it’s the last thing on our minds! xx

@Ohb0llocks what time do you go in tomorrow? sending you all my PMA and hope it’s a quickie for you so you can get your newborn back home with big brother xx

@Roseandbee i have gone for Next’s up to 1
month (10lbs) size as i felt a lot of stores new born size ranged from 6lbs - 7.5lbs which for my monster baby, wouldn’t fit i don’t doubt xx

good news for your results @Pranpreeya157D xx

appt today was so so. bloods are much better with the insulin but i’m still spiking during the night so i’m on increased doses before bed. i have 4+ ketones in my urine which they’ve said is a concern. apparently i’m still not really eating enough (i don’t know
how that can be, honestly i’m never done munching) so my body is looking to other sources for energy. this could mean baby now isn’t getting many nutrients (how i don’t know because i’m eating loads of protein, veg, carbs and diary). so if at growth scan next thurs, he hasn’t put on the average of 0.5lbs per week in the last fortnight he might be better off out than in! iv also lost 4lbs since last thurs - so bizarre! so now i’m hoping and praying that baby has gained so he can stay putt til at least 38 weeks. i know he’d be fine on the outside (that’s like a prisoner being released isn’t it lol) but just another few weeks please!

literally typing this while pricking 2 (yes two!!!) big baked potatoes for the oven for my dinner. a whole pack of ham, hand full of cheese, 2 boiled eggs and huge salad. it’ll take me 2 hours to eat all this lol!

Ohb0llocks · 26/10/2017 19:02

In at 7am tomorrow!

Just on a ghost train with DS. Glad we’re doing something fun the night before. Keep looking at him and almost bursting with love

OnNaturesCourse · 26/10/2017 19:32

Ohb... How exciting! Just popping by to say good luck!! Flowers

Anna2006 · 26/10/2017 20:31

Oh good luck ohh! Keep us all updated with how your getting on.

@bellamoon oh it really does sound up and down whirlwind with you doesn’t it. Guess it just holding off an waiting to see what they say at the next growth scan of little one.

Glad I see people mentioned the balls. I did think about purchasing one nearer the time when I need one. What sort of time if it good to start using one from? My back has started being annoying at work so hoping to do some pregnancy yoga off you tube at home to strengthen it a a little!

An glad you are all packing your bags and I can get lots of tips for when I need to do mine 🙈🙈

@roseandbee think some babies go straight into 0-3 depending on their size. But majority would go into newborn at least at very beginning. I’ve bought newborn for most stuff or first size/upto 1 month which most go upto 10lbs. So I figure it will need that stuff at least for a few weeks. Before 0-3 maybe..here’s hoping lol.
Will have to wait to 28 week appt until I get idea where baby is measuring on graph.

Xx
