Welcome to all the old and new PMA pregnancy ladies as we navigate our way through the amazing and not so amazing parts of pregnancy!
All welcome from all stages to help and support the transition from flat bellies and sleep filled nights to heartburn, hip pain and the growing excitement at meeting our little bundles soon!

I'm using those Asda ones at the mo Amanda too :) And when I was still feeding DS earlier in pregnancy I just wore H&M nursing vests with bust support rather than a bra.

I think as long as you accept that things won't necessarily go to plan, it's still worth writing a basic birth plan, as also includes things like whether you want your partner to cut cord, injection to deliver placenta, whether you want baby to have vit K injection, how you plan to feed so you can be supported with that straight after birth.

We've only had one viewer and although he reckoned he'd like to buy our house, won't put in an offer till he's sold his, which makes me think he needs to see whether he gets enough for his, so not putting much hope on that one. Not thinking about moving too much tbh other than making sure I keep house clean and tidy for potential viewers - not so easy with a toddler :)

Ended up back in triage last night for BP.

Started high again but dropped but +++protein in my wee.

Bloods came back clear and bp went back to normal so was allowed home. They’re waiting over the weekend for results of why the protein is in my wee and any further symptoms I have to ring straight back, otherwise they’ll give me a call to come in on Monday.

I’m absolutely petrified. And finding it really hard keep being away from DS too. We’re best buddies and I haven’t spent a night away from him in over a year. And I feel like the crappiest mum in the world him having to keep going to grandmas.

I just want this to be over and to be home with the baby and everything be fine but I’ve honestly never been so terrified in my life, I keep convincing myself I’ll die.

OhB that must be so awful for you! It was bad enough for me on Wednesday but with your ds at home and the protein in your wee it must be 100 times worse. It sounds as if they are keeping a close eye on you and will act quickly if the situation changes. Thinking of you and hoping there's an easy explanation for the protein.

@Sophsta it’s really worrying. He’s asked to sleep at grandmas tonight though so I can have a bit of rest at least and if I need to go in then it’ll be easier because he’ll already be sorted!

That's one less thing to worry about at least. Fingers crossed it gets sorted.

evening all

heard so many good things about the nursing bras from Asda. got a 2 pack but haven’t even taken them out the carrier bag yet. DH is rather upset my boobs haven’t grown 😂 i’m an E cup so i’m rather happy they haven’t!

@Ohb0llocks jeez hope you’re ok chic. i heard the dreaded P (protein) word when my urine was checked at hosp last week but thankfully on 1+ so nothing to worry about. have they suggesting taking an aspirin or anything like that? most pointless statement ever but try your hardest not to worry as that won’t do you any good. have you got a meditation CD/app or anything? anything to try redirect your thoughts and hopefully you can relax rather than worry? xx

any advice please - any time i bed down, whether from the hip or at the knee i’m getting a strange sensation inside my vagina. can’t explain exactly, it’s not a pain but it’s not pleasant either. feels like bubbles really. DH googled it for me and said baby lying on a nerve or something but it’s so strange it’s bothering me. iv had a nice warm back just now and a wee feel to make sure everything is as it should be so nothing actually feels wrong. help!

we built up our moses basket stand today and unwrapped all the bedding and got a load of baby’s stuff washed. wee bella wasn’t long in giving it all her seal of approval! hopefully this is all part and parcel of her accepting baby 🙏🏼

@BellaMoon I’m ok I think. I keep alternating between feeling fine and absolute panic, but I struggle quite badly with panic attacks and anxiety anyway. Think it’s more a lack of control thing. DS is sleeping at his grandma’s tonight. Went round earlier and took him his pjs and his million other things he won’t sleep without. He’s well excited. Last time he stayed there (or away from me for that matter) was just under 2 years ago so he won’t remember (he’s only 3, 4 in Jan)

His favourites are a cellular blanket (we both sleep with one and swap every so often so it smells like the other - don’t even care if that’s sad!!) and a tshirt of mine that he won’t sleep without. and a sock puppet. And a lizard. And a penguin. And a dinosaur. And whatever else takes his fancy, it’s a wonder there’s any bloody room for him!

Oh no Ohboll0cks, sorry to hear you've been back in with high bp, at least it's come down, but can imagine how the protein in your wee is a worry, esp meaning time away from DS. Hope he manages ok at his grandma's tonight, sounds like you've taken everything he needs for a settled night.

That's probs the thing worrying me most about going into hospital for delivery, just being away from DS, as never had a night apart from him in nearly 3 years. My parents are going to stay round here while I'm in, who he adores, but he's never had any kind of comforter, just relies on me to get to sleep and resettle. I'm planning to stay home as long as possible and then hoping for 6hr discharge, but know very well from last time things don't always go to plan.

Sorry can't help you with that sensation Bella. I guess maybe the midwives might be able to reassure you if you give them a phone or whatever you do locally. Sounds like you've had a nice day getting ready for baby though, something special about washing their clothes and putting their bed together :) You could say I've been nesting a bit - had a sudden urge last night to write down a list of all the stuff that needs sorting in the house before baby arrives. Don't think it's hormones really, just me thinking if I don't get these cupboards sorted now, when will I have the time once DD here and want as little as possible to do when packing if we do end up moving!

Ohb I’m sorry your having such a stressful time:( I’d second Bellas suggestion about hypnosis or meditation, I use it a lot when I have anxiety, you could also try doing deep breaths in thru nose out through the mouth, which is what I’m currently practising for hypnobirth, it’s meant to help with anxiety although I know its hard to do anything when the panic really hits. That’s really sweet about the cellular blanket and it’ll be nice for your ds to stay at his granny’s

@ohb sorry you're having a rough time. On the countdown now and hopefully things improve for u and u have a smooth last few weeks. That's super cute about the blanket :) I bet ds had a great time at his grandparents - it's all a bit adventure to them.

Thanks for all the bra advice ladies - of course I forgot to look / get measured yesterday! I'll try and remember to do it on my lunch break this week.

I did but a top and tail bowl and a bath box though - I'm not sure these are necessities but people kept telling me to get them so I eventually gave in! Oh asked how does the baby fit in the top and tail bowl - and he was being serious!!! 😂 Wish us luck!!

Update! DS loved staying at grandmas. Even snoozed until her alarm clock went off.

Got a call this morning they’ve had the lab culture come back and they want me in at 6pm. I asked whether to bring my hospital bag and she asked how many weeks I was and said yes fetch it in the car incase.

I’m sure DS knows something is amiss. Since we got home he has been the sweetest most helpful little boy on the planet. I gave him some chocolate for helping and he shared it with me I nearly cried!!

So all in all it’s looking like little G May well end up being an October baby. All depends what they say when I get in tonight I guess but I’m under no illusion that I’ll be coming home.

Coming home from this evening I mean not forever!

DS and I have just had a bath together and played cars and now we are just having bacon and sausage butties and a brew that DP made for us. Didn’t realise how hungry I was until I actually ate something! Trying to get the house as tidy as possible before we go too. One less thing to stress about!!

From what I’ve read if it is pre e then they will probably want to induce.
