Spider Veins and other funny boob goings on... Or something more sinister.

For the past, say, month or so I have had what I thought to be a cluster of spider veins on my left boob right next to my areola. However the other day my DP asked how I managed to "bruise" my boob...and this comment has made me look at these "veins" more.

I'm not sure if there are more of them, or the bruise comment is playing tricks, but I can now see why he thought it was bruised. From a distance (ie in the mirror instead of looking down) it looks like a faint, purple, thumb sized bruise. Kind of like someone has dug their thumb in. However when I look down and closely inspect the area it's lots of little lines that are purple/red in colour going all different directions.

Since all this extra attention on my boobs I have also noticed my other boob, the right, has a more red tinge to the areola in the middle (where my pre pregnancy nipplr size would be) and then the same dark brown shade of my left areola around the edges of this. Both are the same size, no pain etc but in early pregnancy my right boob was bigger visually. Thankfully they have now evened out.

I know pregnancy does crazy and amazing things to our girls but it doesn't stop me worrying; breast cancer runs in my family.

I am going to monitor it for a few days and get it checked towards the end of the week - do you think I'm better at my GP or midwife for this?

Also has anyone had similar?

I'm 32 weeks on Thursday.

Thanks

I'd see a doctor, or request a nurse inspection. However, with my first pregnancy especially my boobs also bruised when a milk duct became blocked, I also had frequent reddish marks which always disappeared shortly after. I really wouldn't worry at all because it's most likely perfectly normal, but of course we can't say for sure over the internet!

Of course. I just wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences. I have a habit of completely zoning in and panicking over the slightest health concern. Thank you for replying.

So I'm going to book with the GP.

I've just found the same bruise like veins on my feet... How odd?!

Anyone else had these spider vein things

I've had them although not yet on my boobs and have noticed I'm now bruising in random places without having bumped myself. I'm 32w and this has started recently

They are so strange, I've got them on one boob, both feet and inside legs
