I have developed what I think is sciatica at 37 weeks I can hardly move at all. All day I haven't even been able to get up and down the stairs iv even had to wee in a jug (sorry tmi). I have felt it coming on the last few days but today it has fully come on. I'm not sure if the baby is pressing on a nerve because she Is engaged. Please someone tell me they have experienced this It's so painful and I can't put any pressure on my left side when I stand!!

I had this mildly at 20 weeks and then not again until week 29/30 weeks. Mine was also really bad that I couldn't put any weight on it. I've been doing pregnancy Pilates and felt certain I shouldn't go but the instructor told me to go and she adapted some exercises for me and it's totally gone - not sure if it was Pilates that worked or baby moving to be honest. I found paracetamol took the edge off and sitting with a hot water bottle behind my back/bum on left side. I'm still worried it may come back as I was worried about labour positions with it.

My midwife had suggest a chiropractor specialising in pregnancy if it didn't go. I hope you get sorted soon, it really is the worst.. I found sleeping on that side made it worse so have stayed off that side since it has improved, just in case.

Is it right down your leg? If not, could be pelvic girdle pain. Get a telephone appointment with your GP and ask their advice.

Thank you. I have been doing yoga but I'm not sure if that's what's brought it on to be honest. I can't get comfy in bed it's in my left bum so can't lie on my left side very comfortably! I never thought about labour @pa55methecake Shock I hope it goes by then!!

Funnily enough the class I go to is yoga and Pilates and it was a yoga week that set it off. I wasn't going to go back but thankfully the Pilates teacher is a lot better than the yoga one. When I had it at 20 weeks I found that sitting on a pregnancy ball and rotating my hips really helped!

Hope you are better soon!

It's got worse @pa55methecake I can't walk. I have no idea what I would do if I went into labour now!

I had sciatic pain with PGP and went for a private physio (am still waiting for NHS referral!) she manipulated the muscle and it really worked, I've barely had the sciatic pain since. PGP is still bad but I have exercises to do which do help.

If you can see someone do, you shouldn't have to suffer so much and it will help for labour.Flowers
