Trying to post quick as don't have long before my appointment.
Rang today to book an appointment I've been putting off for a while, this is my second pregnancy, with my first I was riddled with hyperemisis, hopsitaled on more than one occasion because of this, being over due led to preeclampsia and a very stressful birth and afterwards.
This pregnancy so far is going pretty much the same, constant sickness (I'm almost 19 weeks), aswell as exhaustion possibly from having a 1 year old to run around after on top of being pregnant and poorly, a lot of personal problems including house hunting and the split from children's dad, struggling at my hands on, fast paced late night job.
The first time round, if I needed to go to hospital, be ill, have a day in bed then that's what I needed to do but this time I have a baby to look after aswell as myself and the unborn one, I'm just so stressed and feel so ill constantly (have a lot of medication that seems to do nothing) that I really feel a bit of time off work to look after myself and chill a bit is NEEDED.
But in my first pregnancy I was told "pregnancy is not an illness. We don't sign women off for being pregnant" and now I just have a fear of asking. I know I'm not but I feel like il be judged or thought of as an exaggerater or lazy for trying to be signed off. I'm going to go and speak to GP today but if he doesn't suggest it, how do I??

Sorry, replying quickly as rushing out - focus on the nausea/vomiting, that's a perfectly legitimate reason to need some time off. You have a documented history of hospitalisation for hyperemesis, nobody wants that to happen again. Good luck Flowers

How did you get on?

Signed off for this week, "if next week you feel the same, ring and il leave another note at reception for you. I won't need to see you" he was really helpful.
Ketones in my urine again, gave me the last medication I'm yet to try and "that's the last thing they can do before hospital" which obviously just can't happen.
But anyway, but of time off to get myself together

You know this already but please go up to hospital if you continue to have ketones in your urine- especially if 3/4++. Hyperemesis is shit and I can't imagine how you're coping with another little one to look after, but please beg/borrow/call in any favour owed to get yourself hydrated.
