i have just posted another post and this is an attempt to be more lighthearted - two posts in one day is a new record for me!

I am 12 weeks pregnant and very excited - and nervous! I am also a keen cake baker and am often playing in the kitchen baking cakes! today i made a new cake - currently in the oven and while i was making it i wanted to lick the mixing bowl!! i always used to do that pre pregnanacy but being pregnant has made me scared of raw egss!! i know i know that they are not the best things to eat anyway but........

I just wondered if there was any other lighthearted/silly little things that people changed or missed while pregnant!! feeling a but fragile and emotional today for some unknown other than pregnancy !! reason so just wanted to canvas others opinions!!

I would have eaten it and not worried if lion marked eggs.

If in the uk and lion marked should be good 👍

Yep I miss this too! Made brownies for work the other day and wanted to lick the spoon so badly! Handed the bowl over to my husband though who was more than happy to fill in for me.... 🙊

I'm a serial spoon licker. It's the absolute best part of cake making, and I actually prefer the taste of raw cake mix to a baked cake. I have been known to make a cake mix just so that I can eat it raw, and I have always eaten the whole bowlful!

I didn't stop eating raw mixture in my first pregnancy, and I haven't now that I'm in my second.

I ate raw cookie dough the other day, couldn't help myself Blush

Salmonella in eggs in the UK is vanishingly rare, I ate runny eggs (lion stamped chicken eggs) throughout both pregnancies. You're more likely to have a problem with listeria from bagged salad than you are salmonella from raw eggs.

I haven't eaten cake mix in years and now I really want it after reading this. I miss the ease of looking at a restaurant menu and being safe in the knowledge I can eat anything on it.

As a few people have said, as long as the eggs are lion marked you can lick away.

I gave up coffee completely (didn't think I'd be able to just drink it in sensible amounts) so used to sit sniffing DH's coffee every morning.

Are you in the UK OP? Lion stamped eggs are fine, even for sneaky bowl licking! My children are older and back in those days they used to tell you to avoid peanuts. I am not even a massive peanut fan but I massively missed peanut butter. I wish now that I had ignored that shit advice!
