Hi all
I don't often post coz i am shy! but often pop in for a read and have found some very useful/helpful/interesting posts here. Especially as we are expecting our first baby and i am reading pregnancy forums with interest!
I am 12 weeks this week and have our first 12 week scan tomorrow first thing. I have been very excited int he lead up to this, but suddenly today i am getting the wobbles and feel really nervous and worried and scared that they will say that something is wrong! I don't know why i am suddenly feeling like this, but please tell me i am not the only one to suddenly start worrying!

Try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done as I do the same but then people remind me I'm missing out on all the amazing emotions by worrying!

I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll see your little one wriggling away. Enjoy it; it's a beautiful moment Smile

Not the only one at all! I was really nervous before mine in case they couldn't find a heartbeat, or whatever else they may find. Everything was fine though and the very strong likelihood is yours will be too. Good luck, and be sure to come back tomorrow and tell us how you got on! X

Best of luck @Cakeandmarshmallows I'm in the exact same position as you, I have my 12 week scan tomorrow morning and haven't been able to sleep for worrying the last few days x

ForeverHopeful21 · 25/09/2017 09:15

Good luck today!
Totally normal to be worried. I hope everything goes well x

I was incredibly nervous about my scan. I thought they were going to say that there was nothing in there!
It was one of the best feelings when they turned the screen on and I saw my little one laying in there. You will be on a high for the rest of the day afterwards and will find it hard to concentrate on anything! I just kept looking at the scan picture. Good luck x

Following for the happy update! Scans are always a mixture of nerves and excitement. I don't think any amount of positive thinking or experience will get rid of the little niggle that sits at the back of your mind!
Good practice for a lifetime of unnecessary worrying, it's in the "mum" job description haha

TheCatsMother99 · 25/09/2017 12:59

Good luck today!

It's completely normal to have these feelings! I think every first time parent does! I definitely was really worried before my 12 week and everything was fine. I have my 20 week scan on Thursday and I'm feeling the same about this scan lol. Just try to distract yourself and take a few deep breaths! I'm sure everything will be fine Smile

I was petrified before my 12 week scan, even though I’d had one at 9 weeks. I was excited then the day before I got really nervous. I have my 20 week scan on Friday and I’m super excited at the moment but I can bet that by Thursday evening, I’ll be worrying and bugging DH with my “what ifs”

Hope everything went well today!

Cakeandmarshmallows · 25/09/2017 21:16

Thank you everyone, it went very well and brought a big smile to mine and my mans face and a few tears!!!! It was indeed very difficult to concentrate rest of the day but had to go back to work, no one knows there yet! Thank you for all the support.
